Lucas. Whether it’s the ethereal fine-boned beauty of S7, the well-muscled Porteresque physique of S9 or the “in-between” look of S8 Lucas, he’s always a stunner. Surveilling, searching, going undercover–Lucas does it all with style. The jeans and leather jackets, the snug-fitting pullovers that hug his broad shoulders and sculpted chest, his courier black leathers, so reminiscent of Sir Guy. The pin-striped suit with that power red tie. Those piercing blue eyes and beautiful pale skin that contrast so strikingly with his dark hair . . .
He’s one seriously good-looking spy.

I know he totally rocked that black hair but I’m seriously looking forward to the day when we see Richard’s natural hair colour!
Maybe our intrepid Lady Writer/reporter will be able to take a photo at Comic con to satisfy me? Wouldn’t it be lovely!
The most beautiful spy in the world!! Gosh, that beautiful pale face in series 7!!!
I still hate the series 9 writers. Apart from what they did to Lucas, they made me hate Harry and Ruth, which is unforgivable. They didn’t deserve such wonderful actors!
Yeah, Nietzsche, no arguments from me about Lucas being the most beautiful spy. If you ask me, if they intended to do a hatchet job on the series, they couldn’t have done it better. You know my understanding is those guys mostly wrote comedy before they came on board Spooks. Well, it was one big joke. But I wasn’t laughing. *grumble, grumble* They didn’t deserve good actors at all. I am almost glad Ros was blown up (although of course she is SND, too) before they came on the scene. God knows what they would have done to her!
Beautiful, beautiful Lucas…he’s simply stunning. *sigh*
I know some people complain about Lucas being so thin in S7, and yes it was a shock to see RA after I’d gotten to know him as the robust Sir Guy. But as I said in a previous post, he had such a fey, otherworldly beauty in S7–all elegant cheekbones and the eyes more prominent than ever–and we can see those elfin ears, which just adds to the feeling he is not quite of this world. The whippet thin body and sculpted face had a fragility that worked so well for what the character had gone through–a man who was damaged and close to being broken, yet somehow managed to endure the horrors of that prison. Richard’s efforts to lose weight to look more like a man who had suffered deprivation really paid off. Between his altered physical appearance and his acting ability, it was very easy for me to believe in and fall in love with Lucas North. And he certainly got back into robust shape.
Beautifully, beautifully put, Angie! You sure have a way with words!
Couldn’t agree with you more re. season 7 Lucas…
Aren’t we lucky to have her to describe Richard and his chaRActers, and how we feel about him, so eloquently and beautifully?!!! Thanks Angie!!
Oh, yes, beautifully put. I agree completely.
Go check out the new pictures of Richard at richardarmitagenet. He was on stage to raise money with the cast of the Hobbit. The picture of him with a fan is breathtaking! He still has the beard which is streaked with gray! I’m guessing the gray is courtesy of the make-up dept. and not all his. It looks like he’s growing his hair out a little bit.
He looks so good! Healthy, happy and soooo handsome. Yeah, I would say the hair is beginning to grow back . . . I can’t wait to see what he looks like at Comic-Con. *thud*
OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean.
He is–magnificent.
Did you see that ??????????

He is more BEAUTIFUL than ever !!!!!
I know. I just keep going back and looking at him. Those piercing eyes. The smile. The beard. The hairy forearms. Want. to. touch. now.
Me, too! (greedy puss that I am)
Oh, man. He’s just masculine beauty personified, isn’t he? I keep forgetting it’s winter down there. I think if I were in that close proximity to him in a coat I ‘d break out in a heavy, heavy sweet.
Oh wow, even more beauty! I love the picture of him standing with the young lady! His upper body looks great! I think he’s made some more and different muscles on TH! Oh wow he looks good! I also couldn’t help but notice that once again, when he’s in a big group, he has gravitated to the side. Mr. Shy Guy strikes again.
Those forearms look good. Must be all of the sword action!
I remember in one of the screencaps from the first videoblog that showed them in the barrels, that it appeared Richard’s forearms had developed new musculature. Orcrist must be pretty heavy.
Yeah, that’s a great pic. I love how he leans in for the photos with fans and holds them close. He may be shy, but he’s not stand-offish with his admirers.
Oh Angie If you could have a photo at Comic-Con with Richard holding you close !!! I can’t wait for next month and cross my fingers for you !!!!
(OMG I am overusing exclamations points but that is the Armitage Effect)
And if he does I will be sure and covertly sniff him, ladies–if I don’t suddenly pass out from the excitement.
That’s for sure. He’s so nice to people! What a lovely job his parents did.
… exclamation …
Yep, it’s all Richard’s fault!!!!!
He is totally stunning as usual! Loving the hair! Lets just say there is a whole line of exclamation points!
It looks very glossy and healthy–the hair that is. He looks very fit. *sigh*
OMG!!! These photos of Richard have been popping up and I’ve been wasting my time SLEEPING?!!!! He’s looking absolutely gorgeous! Be still my beating heart!!!
I had to go back and look at all the pictures he is in once more!! I got so excited seeing these NEW picture of him! It’s been so long since that happened. He looks really fit and well and looks great with his hair longer again. It looked rather brown and so silky!! Is it because he is so much taller than many of the other cast members that he kept well in the back of the group once they got the members of the audience on stage or is it because he is naturally reserved? Just getting a few glimpses of him is SUCH a treat. How can you help but love him to bits!!
I think it’s a combination of reserve, good manners (move out of the way to allow space for everyone like a polite fellow) and, perhaps, habit. His hair looks really healthy–I am sure the break from the dark dye has to be good for it. And he appears to be in the pink of health, indeed. So manly. *sigh*
Oh, yes! I’m offline for a few days and THIS happens. I am more smitten than ever, I’m afraid.
This is isn’t helping with the whole needing-to-sleep thing. I am ridiculously excited after seeing how gorgeous he looks and to know Lee told people Richard is going to be at Comic-Con!!
Hi Leigh! Good to have you back! I’ve been a little worried about you (sorry I’m a bit of a worrier)! How was your trip? Was it very tiring? How are you feeling? Jet-lagged?
Oh, heck, Judit…….where’s Leigh been? said in a stage whisper so she can’t hear me. I’m so flippin’ dozey at the moment.
And it’s only been made worse by finally being able to watch the video!!!
Going back for more
She was traveling back from the US to her home in Spain.
Shhh… I’m home now, but connectivity is intermittent, so you may not hear from me as frequently.
It was quite a journey. The airline forced me to check my carry-on (smaller plane), then lost it. The delivered it to my friend’s cafe-bar yesterday. Also thanks to the cramped quarters in the small plane, I hit my head, fell forward, and split my lip. If I wear lipstick, it just looks like I’ve had collagen. I was so exhausted, I slept a whole day. But I got here, the house is fine, my friends are well, and if I don’t melt, I’ll be able to write.
Ah the joys of long-distance flights! You want to try flying from Sydney to London…….approx. 24 hours!!!…….and then having to buy a whole new wardrobe (for the wrong season at home!) because the airline lost your large suitcase which was supposed to be in the hold.
Just joking. I’m glad you arrived home safely.
Aaaah…the idea of melting sounds appealing at the moment…I think the temp might be a minus quantity in Canberra at the moment
Yeah, the whole journey was about 30 hours door-to-door. And I have had the experience of having to buy a small wardrobe when my big bag went missing (do not fly through Frankfurt), only to turn up two weeks later. I’d send you some of the heat if I could. I think Judit would contribute a few degrees, too.
Yes, Kathryn, I’d like to send you at least 10 degrees! Though it has cooled down a bit in the last couple of days, thankfully!
Leigh, sorry your journey wasn’t pleasant, I hope you’ve fully recovered from it by now!
Angie…are you still there? I received this email and thought of you immediately

Thank you, ladies, for the thought but, may I let you in on a little secret?
I LOVE WINTER IN CANBERRA
and every other season. too.
I was “just tending” to complain (Matthew’s darling little boy, Lachlan, almost 3, can’t quite get his mouth around “pretending”)
