Family is a very good thing

“Ladywriter, you didn’t forget.”

“Of course I didn’t. Friday is always your day for me.”

“But you haven’t been writing in your blog since–well, since that Incident Which Dares Not Speak Its Name.” His lips tightened into a thin line as he tossed back his dark, lustrous locks.

“I wish you’d let me deal with this creature. Remember, I learnt the poetry of pain from the best teacher in the world.” His features softened. “Mr. Ladywriter and I and all the lads hated to see you cry. It was–most distressing.” He looked away and gave a small sniff.

“I know. Believe me, I would have preferred not to do so. Gives me an awful headache.”  She sighed and shrugged her shoulders. “Sometimes, you just have to have a good cry.” She gave him a rueful half-smile. “I was really looking forward to your experiencing Comic-Con with me.”

He nodded slowly, a wistful look crossing his handsome face. “Would–a hug be entirely out of order, Ladywriter?”

Her mouth curved into a mischievous smile. It made him feel better to see it. “A hug from my favorite gallant knight? Always in order.”

He engulfed her in those strong arms, gently stroking her hair. “Everything will be alright, won’t it, Ladywriter?”

She laid her head against that broad chest. “I have many wonderful, kind friends from all across the world, dear Guy. It may take a bit of time to get back up to speed, but all shall be well.”

“Just remember, I will be here for you, too, along with all the other lads, and Mr. Ladywriter, of course. Your–family.”

“Yes. Family is a very good thing. And they don’t have to be your flesh and blood, either.”

“Or even BE flesh and blood, exactly . . .”

“Exactly.”

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 25 years and I live here in a country home we share with four pets, including a three-legged tuxedo cat with a Hitler mustache. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes are eclectic. It was Richard who was the catalyst for me to pursue fiction writing, first fanfic and now a novel. I also make fanvids and create fanart. RA is my muse and I find him endlessly inspiring.

  1. You’re back! I’m so glad. And I’m sorry that you didn’t get to Comic con. I’ve been away myself and only found out yesterday that you couldn’t go. I sincerely hope that I didn’t have anything to do with your feeling unwell. If I did, then I apologize profusely.

    • KG,
It was NOTHING that anyone here said or did that led to me not going. Just the machinations of one cruel, malicious hypocrite who falsely considers herself to be the guardian of Richard Armitage. KK strikes again. This time she’s going to feel the heat. Because a whole army of strong, intelligent women are not only behind Richard, it seems they sre also behind ME. Welcome back. ;)

      • I’m so sorry to hear that that person has been at it again. I’m way behind on my blog reading and decided to start with your newest post first as this group of people really seems to care for one another.

Isn’t Guy just the greatest and sweetest person to volunteer a hug? :)

        • Kathryn, this time she really went too far. She actually admitted everything she did over at IMDB. We didn’t have to out her, she’s done it to herself. What goes around, comes around. I have many, many wonderful friends; I don’t think the same can be said for KK. And perhaps that is part of what makes her such a nasty creature. On the other hand, Sir Guy is truly a sweetie. :D

          • I really, really hope she will not get away with her appalling actions this time around! People have been sued for far more trivial things. At the very least, she should be made to pay you compensation for loss of earnings and reimburse you for your expenses. Sorry if I’m talking nonsense, I’m not a legal expert. But I have a sense of justice and it’ll only be satisfied if she gets some kind of comeuppance. And she should also be made to undergo psychotherapy.

    • Thanks. He is the sweetest soul, he just needs love and acceptance and a bit of nurturing. Although he hasn’t been feel particularly begign in terms of you know who. *grin*

  2. It’s still Thursday here and I was about to do my usual check of emails, blogs and a couple of tumblr sites and it came to me that is was already Guyday Friday in many places. I was so saddened by the thought that there would be no TAE posting so I was overjoyed to find this!! I wish I could give you a geat big hug but I see your sweet Sir Guy beat me to it! ;) So good to see him once again too! Anyway big virtual hugs from me!! :D Welcome back!!!

BTW – family is so important and I’d like you to think of us (your true friends) as back up for your “real life” family.

    • Tnank you. :D Sir Guy gives really great hugs, BTW. He is so pleased to know he was missed as well. And he considers all of you to be part of his family since he’s been Loved into Being.

      • I’ve missed you both, and I’m glad to see you back. Yes, “family” — the very best kind is the kind we choose.

  3. This post put a smile on my face. I am feeling better today because you are back. LW, Guy is so sweet ! As he said everything will be alright. You know we can’t get enough of Guyday Friday.
Take care of you and hugs to you and Sir Guy.

  4. YAY!!! You posted! I’m so glad! Seeing a notification of a new TAE post in my inbox instantly made me feel better about life (I’ve been rather grumpy lately!) ! As the others have said, welcome back, dear Angie! I’ve missed your posts!!! Lots of hugs!!!

  5. I’m a newbie to your blog but it was lovely to wander past & find a new post. So lovely that Guy was around with hugs & comfort. Just gotta love Friday. :-) Glad too that you have been feeling the love and support from our little community all around the world.

    • Welcome, beachbaby!! Hope you will come back, and often. Fridays are alwasy better with a little Sir Guy, I find. ;) Yes, people have been amazingly kind and loving and supportive. You all don’t know how much this means to my sisters and my husband, too. Thank you.

  6. Oh Angie your back “brilliant” I knew Sir Guy would come through for you Bless Him, and I knew you wouldn’t leave us without some Guy on a Friday. Much Love

  7. I am so disappointed to hear you are not attending ComicCon. I had considered driving to San Diego (2 hrs away) just to meet you and buy you lunch or dinner. I never comment, but I enjoy just reading your comments and the comments of others. Someone needs to stop that Nasty Troll. :(
