Courtesy of our lovely and talented friend Heather and HeathRA Designs, more footage from the SDCC Hobbit Panel:
We really like the fact Miss Heather focused on one actor in particular. . . .
Doesn’t he look like he is having a hell of a good time?? And doesn’t he look handsome, healthy and generally wonderful . . .
Thank you, Heather dearest. You rock!
Heather’s footage is so clear, and close up, and he’s soooo yummy…I can’t take my eyes off him!
Angie’s right, Heather…you rock!!
It’s great, isn’t it? She just posted on twitter that she has applied for Senior Graphic Designer at work and I certainly hope she gets it. She is such a talent and such a sweetheart, too.
You are a star!! Thank you for sharing this Heather!! I never thought we’d get such a close up view! OHMYGOSH!! He looks amazing and so healthy with his shiny (own colour) hair!! I especially loved some of the shots when you see him in profile. His head is such a lovely shape. You can do nothing BUT stare, can you??
I know, I found myself watching with rapt attention. He looks really hale and hearty and obviously having a lovely time of it. RA really does have a well-shaped head. There isn’t much of anything about him that, er, isn’t well-shaped, is there??
*sigh*
Thanks Heather for sharing with us ! She really is a nice person. And Richard looks more beautiful than ever !!!
Agreed.
Thank you so much, Heather! And how lucky you managed to capture his best angle. In half-profile he is stunning!
I love that three-quarter view. As you say, just stunning. . .
Thanks a lot Heather for sharing this with us.
The vid’s great, isn’t it? I’ve watched it 5 times so far
Thanks for posting the link, Angie. Wasn’t it nice to see so much of Richard?
It was terrific. So glad our own HeathRA was able to get up close and personal.
Such beautifully clear and CLOSE coverage! Awesome, thank you to HeathRA! He does look wonderful like he’s enjoying the experience. Yay!
Didn’t she do a great job??
Oh yessss !!!
A really great video! Wonderful to see so much Richard so close. He is so intelligent and articulate and looks absolutely beautiful. Love to see him laugh!
It’s a great joy to see those smiles and that laughter. There is so much sweetness and goodness inside that man, I truly believe that.
Just wanted add, I really liked Andy Serkis’ speech. And I like how Martin asked Richard to talk about working in prosthetics because otherwise he wouldn’t have gotten a chance to say anything.
Yes, I loved that too! A commenter on this video on YT called Martin “cocky” but he didn’t come across like that to me at all! He was just being himself.
I thought it a very impressive panel overall. And I thought it perfectly logical (and hardly “cocky”) of Martin to defer to Richard regarding the dwarf makeup and gear–after all, who better to discuss it than the chief dwarf himself? As Martin said, he didn’t have to go through the makeup and costume process they did each day. And yes, it gave our beautiful boy a chance to speak up before the panel. And I am becoming an ever fonder fan of Andy, too, not just as an actor, but a thoroughly nice chap.
Wonderful video! Thanks for sharing it. Great to see the panel from an alternate viewpoint … especially one that focuses on our favorite dwarf!
Hooray for Heather for making her way to the front so we could get a much better view of Mr. Gorgeous.
I know this is very shallow of me but I’m stunned by the great view this vid offers of Richard’s perfect swan-like neck!
I was thinking the exact same thing. I usually stare at his arms but I was totally enthralled by his neck. Go figure. I think “healthy” is a great word to discribe him. All fangurling aside, he really does look very healthy and very well. I hope this means he is in a very good place with himself.
Yes, it was a superb angle for full-scale neck appreciation.
Healhty just keeps popping into my mind. He looks, sounds, seems to be in a really good place in life.
Thank you, Heather and Angie. Oh, yes, RApt is the word.
You are most welcome. When I saw that post of Heather’s on Twitter, I knew I had to get the link set up.
The grin on his face at 3:05 when a woman calls out his name is just adoRAble. *sigh* I don’t believe I’ll ever tire of watching this video, watching him…he is absolutely beautiful.
He’s just so damned adorable at times.
So it’s not just this -relative- newbie to the RA universe that keeps cueing up the video and then pausing it at *many* strategic moments to drool, I mean ADMIRE, this amazing gentleman? Adorable … yes, indeed!
Hmmmmmmm–pretty sure you are not alone, babe. And there’s a lot to admire, respect, adore and drool over in this amazing fellow. We only crush on the best here.
It’s nice to be in a place with others who understand this affliction that’s come over me. (My hubby is trying to … he’s such a good man.) Y’all are the best!
Anybody need a towel? ;D
A good man who tries to understand it all is really a blessing. As you know, I have one, too. And truth be told, many of the qualities I so love in RA I also see in him. Intelligence without condescension, humor without mean-spiritedness, well-mannered and polite–just my kind of guy.
LOl! I thought I was the only one that had noticed Richard ´s neck .His skin is so tan, giving him a healthy appearance.Even with that beard he is still gorgeous!
He’s Bee-Yoo-Tee-Ful.
So true!!
Can you hear that wolf whistle I just did down in L.A. Angie??
You know, in between the claps of thunder, I think I DID . . .
Thunder?? *shudders* Me no likee!! Don’t send it this way, if you please!
I have to say that I’ve watched quite a number of videos from Comic Con now and looked at oodles of pictures and everyone who has seen them would have to agree that Richard was THE handsomest guy there – no offense to anyone else!
I was just thinking today that he probably hasn’t had such world-wide exposure in his life – SO FAR!! Of course I’m not counting here the millions who have watched him on TV over the years, most particularly the 11.4 million who watched Harry and Geraldine on Christmas Day 2006 and the 12.3 million on New Year’s Day a week later!
I think in spite of being a ridiculously huge event, Comic Con was mostly for the geeks. It got a lot of media coverage but so did other movies and shows. RA was part of it and did well, but right now, he didn’t stand out. It was just a very first step into the limelight. A hall with thousands of cheering people, and people lining up to get his autograph, yes, but not because of HIM, but because of their anticipation that the Hobbit will be a great movie and he is part of it. It will be a few months more before the world will start to notice him.
But he did stand out, he was taller than everybody there!
And no one else had the same Beardy Goodness, either.
I’ve just come across this:

*guh!* I adore the “normalness” of this shot…faded teeshirt, back pack, jeans…
If you liked that one

Her twitter is protected, so no go. *sigh* It looks like I will have to reconsider being on twitter, I’m missing out on things like this.
I will see what I can do shortly.
I think I just fainted! Guh indeed Mezz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess he was travelling light with only carry-on luggage! Good to see the biceps at still there!!!!
I’ve been trying to figure out if the background is that of ComicCon.
I thought perhaps at the airport but I could be wrong!
I am pretty sure it is the airport in SD.
Be sure and check out the link to another airport photo in my reply to Mezz. Block on Mr. Walking Dead on the left and enjoy the view!!! Squeeeeeeeee
So it’s taken at the airport? Those fans were well prepared with their photos and pens!
What I’m getting at is that there would have been no way of knowing just when Richard was arriving.
maybe they just hung out in hopes of sighting someone. It wouldn’t be the first time . . . If you’ll get in line three days before an event and sleep on the sidewalk, well–
I’m not on twitter either – darn it!!
Come to twitter, Teuchter! It’s easy! And fun!
Thanks for the invite Judit! I’m planning to get an I-phone (yes, even at my age!!) so perhaps after that?
Go for it Teuchter!
I’ll keep you posted, my dear!
May I add – just for the record – I think Richard did indeed stand out and not just because of his height – impressive as that is, all six feet two and half of him!
He showed he is intelligent, thoughtful, a team player and above all a gentleman. Of course many of the people there were so-called “Geeks” and the vast majority probably hadn’t even heard his name before this, but for Hobbit and LOR fans there is no denying this was a big event. It will no doubt be some time before his name becomes a household name outside the UK but I also believe, as do many others, it will happen in time and it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy!
I think this was an extremely good experience for Richard to have and a great trial run, one might say, before he does hit the big time. It gave him the chance to have to press the flesh with a lot of people, to run the gauntlet of all those interviews, to speak in front of thousands of people, albeit briefly. If he is at Comic-Con next year, he will know exactly what to expect and it will be all the easier for him. And, of course, there will be many more opportunities for him to be interviewed on camera and in print approaching the film release and particularly in the aftermath. I think he will be sought after as a major “discovery” following its release and I believe he will handle it all beautifully.
Teuchter & Angie, well said!
Your very welcome Mezz! It is so nice to be in the company of all you great folk who hold this young man – yes, he is young to me! – in such great regard and affection. This is, as it should be, a very happy place to be!!
Beautifully said, Teuchter and Angie, couldn’t agree with you more! CC was a huge triumph for him, I think. Why else did he go up 123 places (or something like that) in the imdb rankings?
