And black and white, too, to balance out Technicolor Thorin earlier this week. Truth be told, he is gorgeous in any old color, isn’t he? Who knew I’d have such a crush on a 250-year-old dwarf?
Loved the technicolor Thoring but I prefer sepia Thorin!!! You’re right though, he’s gorgeous in any colour really! He’ll be breathtaking in 3D! That’s why I’d like to see the movie first with fellow addicts. So they can perform CPR on me when he first appears on the screen!
This morning I looked at that EW portrait we love so much that was tweeted in honor of his birthday–RANet has the full-sized high-res image now in their gallery. I clicked on the big image. OH. MY. GOD. He is stunning. I wanted to run my fingers through his amazing mane of hair, play with that braid, stroke his beard with those lovely little silver hairs and gaze into those mesmerizing eyes . . . imagining him on the big screen in 3D is almost more than I can imagine . . . I understand what you mean about needing the support of other fans in case you swoon!
Sepia certainly becomes him! I had the same reaction Angie when I found the ENLARGED image! As the kids would say, “I was like, WOW!!!” I could hardly tear myself away from it. The hair, the beard and oh my word, those tantalizing eyes! As you said, stunning!!! You really want to reach out and touch Ahem – I actually did, even though it was sadly only a picture. I wouldn’t have the brass neck to do it in RL, naturally.
Thank goodness so many of my family are Hobbit and LOTR fans even though they may not necessarily be RA fans although they do agree he is a fantastic actor! I was explaining to my granddaughter last night – or should I say trying to explain what this digital 3D thing will be like – according to how Peter J described it – and she was very excited!
Seeing that new hi-res image for the first time was another “WOW” for me too. I reached out to touch, found myself drowning in those stunning eyes of his, they are so clear.
I’m glad you liked. Alluring is a good word. It’s not one I use to describe many males, but Richard definitely possesses it. And I agree, he is perfect as Thorin and is going to absolutely blow people away when they see him on the big screen. The man and the character just ooze charisma.
I swear, if you’d told me a few years ago I would be lusting after an aging hirsute dwarf, I would never have believed you. Of course, that was BTAF. Before The Armitage Effect.
Yeah, me too. *sigh* One thing in his favour is that even young Thorin is older than me, I believe. Same can’t be said for Richard and all his other chaRActers!
Then there are those newbies who will be exposed to the potency of TAE and fall for Thorin, even through the prosthetics, makeup and hair.
That’s true. I am just a spring chicken compared to Thorin! Yes, I can imagine people watching the film and thinking, “Oh, my gosh. That Thorin is really—hot. Such presence. Those eyes. That voice. I want to play with his braid. Whoaaaaaaaaa.”
That’s a plus for me too ladies!! When I was toasting Richard at dinner last night my daughter-in-law said, “How old is he Mom?” When I said, “41″ she looked at me with a grin and asked, “And you’re HOW old??” As if she didn’t know!!!!!!!!!!! I tried very hard not to blush.
Crikey Angie these Thorin photos are stunning. Can’t believe I’m lusting over a 250 year old dwarf.Mind you can’t believe I’m lusting over a man 15 years my junior either. Sometimes I wonder if I’m going mad but then I read all these lovely blogs and realize I’m in good company.
I’ve great subject matter with which to work. I find myself marveling over my “hairy old dwarf” lust, too LOL and the fact I have these sorts of feelings for a guy nearly 11 years my junior, but I look at it this way. He’s a mature grownup–not some callow teenager–so there’s no reason for me to feel pervy or anything
AJ Daisy, Richard is 15 years my junior too, and I love being in the company of other mature women who feel the same way about him.
Thanks Angie for the above, you’ve put it perfectly!
Yes it IS lovely that so many of us feel the same way and I’m thankful to have that “Good Taste Gene”, but I still have those little niggles of conscience when I think of how many years older than him I am! **blushes profusely**

He really is just–beautiful. And seeing him up close and basically life-size. *thud*
We shall need to bring our smelling salts and a pillow on which to land…
LOL, Judit!
But if we all went together, they’d have to clear out a whole floor at the local hospital for all the casualties of the Thorin attack.
At least we’ll be recovering in good company!
Absolutely!!
Do they take advance bookings?
The technicolor and black and white are perfect. They all create a mood and an allure. RA as Thorin is perfect too.

Another promo still of Thorin found over at tumblr:

Thanks, Mezz. I ‘ve snaffled it.
You’re not the only one!

Snaffled it that is!
Family members really love to needle one at times. Nothing wrong with admiring a younger man as long as he is of age and is a proper grown-up.
As we know, chronological age has nothing to do with it, as she will learn when she gets here.
Me too.
The “me too” was supposed to go under Angie’s comment! Lol

Angie you are so right. I feel much better about myself now, and of course we are not on our own.

It’s good to be in the company of people who understand us, who know where we are coming from, isn’t it? Makes things so much more fun.
There’s plenty of us who feel the same way. Clearly we have good taste in men.
