Ever since I was a little child clutching crayons in my hands, salivating at the very notion of a 64-count box of Crayolas complete with built-in sharpener, I have loved color and playing with colors. So here’s some fun I’ve had playing with Mr. A and color. He certainly brightens up my life! Happy weekend to all.

I would prefere if he was uninformed how much he’s helping, you know I just want him to be happy ,not overhelmed.
I was thinking of his family again tonight. Wondering how they are handling all this increased interest in their son, brother, uncle–which will really explode in the coming months. It’s a lot to take in.
His loved ones and friends are bursting with pride, surely!:) Our
Rich is a wise guy, I belive that he will cope.
I have every confidence that he will cope.
I can’t wait to see that dazzling smile of his at the various premieres of TH. *sigh* I hope wherever he is and whatever he is doing right now, he is enjoying himself. In every way.
I share your hope.
I am wondering if Mum still takes care of his fan mail? I am thinking there may be quite a spike in volume come December–as the world feels the Armitage Effect.
Richard is, I am convinced, an old soul. And I think he will be fine, too. Seeing him handle himself at ComicCon and on the set of Black Sky re-affirmed it all for me.
If his mum still takes care of his fan mail, she had best be prepared for an avalanche. Even if only one in a hundred fans actually writes, that’s still an immense volume, in my estimation. He does handle himself beautifully, and that just makes me even more besotted.
I am thinking she might need some assistance.
I doubt his mum still handles the fan mail- I’d think Richard’s agency has taken over this task by now?
However, if she still handles the fanmail, I’d like to offer her my services to help her with it!!! I’m a very good secretary!
I am sure there would be many eager individuals wishing to offer assistance!
I love the Cbeebies pic. I shamelessly introduced these videos to my daughter and they have now become a bedtime ritual – her favorite is Flat Stanley. When the first one started playing and Richard started talking she burst out, “oooh, that accent is so hot!” I don’t know whether to applaud her good taste, or be very afraid (she’s 7!).
Nothing to worry about, obscura- it only means your daughter has got the Good Taste Gene!!!
My favorite is “I’m Not going Out There.”
Your daughter is simply following in the footsteps of her extremely astute mother.
I like that one too…We really like Mr. Dart the curator of the world famous Museum of Art. I would love to Richard’s face when he is doing that funny, nasally voice. His Transylvanian bat in the “Lost Acorn” one is fab to – RA in a cameo on Sesame Street filling in for the Count? (I understand that they are not planning to replace him since the death of his creator…just use archived spots)
They are truly all delightful. Richard clearly has such fun creating the voices for those characters . . . I would love to see him appear on Sesame Street in some capacity.
It’s one of those kind of iconic guest jobs isn’t it? We don’t watch it much anymore since my kids have moved on to the dreaded tween shows, but they have always gotten A-list guests.
Some of whom memorably sang and danced with the Muppets.
That’s right. RA could act (doing some cool voices) dance and sing!!
The most recent one I saw was Ricky Gervais singing a lullaby with Elmo. Who wouldn’t want to hear RA sing a lullaby?!
*sigh* I wish he could some by and sing a lullaby to ME every night.
My wish, too. *sigh* There are some lovely ones, too…
My favourite out of the five is the “Lost Acorns”. And my favourite character is Squirrel. Such enthusiasm for life!
But to be honest, I know all 5 stories by heart. A result of listening to them so many times on my mobile phone on those early morning journeys to our site office…(I’m NOT a morning person..Luckily I only have to go to that office about once a week) They were the only thing that kept me awake (-which is ironic as they are supposed to be bedtime tales! LOL) I hate falling asleep on a bus only to be woken up 30 mins later with a sore neck (my neck is sore enough as it is!) !
did you ever wonder, when you were a kid, of some of the crayons in the box, the less beloved ones, felt neglected?
Yeah! There were those weird shades of green and brown one never used, for example. You’d be wearing your favorites down to a nub and they would still be pristine. Poor little lonely crayons.
or did they feel relieved after their friends started to come back looking somewhat worse for wear, or to not come back at all….;)
Good point!! LOL
lonely, unwanted white crayon.
I tended to wear them down fairly equally, with the exception of the night sky colours, which went quickly unless I had dark paper. Then the white and the gray got used for stars and clouds. I drew a lot of woodland settings so the browns and greens got used plenty. My frustration was that I could not create good skin tones without a lot of blending.
I drew a lot of people, so I know the problem with skin tones. It took a lot of blending indeed to get a good result sometimes.
