Video Spotlight: The ChaRActers in “Sweet Child O’ Mine”

Standard

This video to Sheryl Crowe’s terrific acoustic version of Guns ‘n Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine” was at my now-defunct Vimeo account. Today I uploaded it to YT. Hope you can see it wherever you may be . . .

  1. really a nice video, I did not know this song version, “his eyes like the bluest skies”, I would like to see smiling more that angelic face

  2. Great video. How sweet he looks with Gerry- Dawn. :) OT: Dawn was all over UK TV this week, she’s been promoting her new book called ‘Oh dear Silvia’ and she looks absolutely fabulous, glowing with happiness (apparently she has a new man in her life after her divorce- good for her!) and is just as funny as ever! :)

  3. This was a really sweet vid and well done too. I sat down and watched RA’s bits from Sparkhouse last night. No way I could make myself actually watch the wretched thing all the way through. John is hands-down my favorite character of his. Not only was he masterfully portrayed, but I have a great fondness for sweet gentle men. It was good to see the other clips as well. I still haven’t seen very much of RA’s work so I’m enjoying peeks at what is to come. :) If I knew how to make videos I’d do one to Bonnie Tyler’s Holding Out for a Hero.

    • He did an amazing job as John S. You have lots of good performances to discover and enjoy. Sparkhouse is hard for me to watch due to how horrible Carol’s father was to her–the abuse is so painful to see. And I find myself wondering if Carol is just too damaged by life to really ever appreciate John and return his feelings as she should. :(

I am not really set up to do anything beyond the slideshow vids–don’t have enough storage capability on this laptop and heavens knows I spend too much time on all this as it is –but I have had tremendous fun with what I have done. All this fan-related creativity is quite addictive, I have to say. ;)

      • RA is beyond good. He has a rare combination of looks and talent and decency that is rare in Hollyweird. The only person I can think to compare him to is Hugh Jackman. Hugh has the same combination and it’s rocketed him to the top. I’d love to see RA get the chance Hugh got to star on Broadway. I got to meet him a couple of times after The Boy from Oz and he’s absolutely as nice and down to earth as he appears. Both see acting as something they would be doing even if they never made it past off off off Broadway. They both have a good foundation in family and morals, for lack of a better word. This lets you survive the insanity of becoming a star.

Seeing how much is out there on RA I decided to go looking for what is available in the line of fan videos on Hugh and astoundingly it’s not much. There is a lot out there but it’s clips from Broadway, shows he done and interviews. The one one who seems to come close is Nathan Fillian of Firefly. David Boreanaz also has quite a few, but neither can come close to the 50 (!) pages of videos for RA.

        • I think of him as being the sweet, well-brought-up, well-mannered “boy next door” who also happens to be drop-dead gorgeous and enormously talented and charismatic. His personality reminds me in certain ways so much of my husband it amazes and delights me. (Prejudiced though I admit to being) my husband is truly one of the nicest, most genuine people you could ever hope to meet. A truly decent chap, just as RA is.

Hugh does seem like a really lovely guy who is well grounded and certainly has talent and charm to share.

I have not really looked around at other fandoms to any degree but I do know there has been a huge outpouring of creativity from Richard’s admirers. I mean, just myself alone– fanfiction, including a novel-length Porter fic and several other multi-chapter stories, close to 120 fanvids, I’ve lost count of all the fan art, and the blog . . . and plenty more fans have done things along the same lines and beyond. I think of him as a muse, an inspiration and a source of encouragement.

        • I love Hugh Jackman too JaneGael. Comes across as a truly nice chap. Pretty decent actor too (he was great in The Fountain, a really weird movie but he gave an excellent performance!). Have you seen him on ‘Inside the Actor’s Studio’? It’s on YT, I think. I seem to remember a joint RA and HJ fanvid somewhere on YT, don’t know if you’ve come across it?
