Aside

There he goes, feigning sleep once more and making us swoon.

Never left someone else pack for you, even if he looks like this.

Anyone for fork porn?

Mammonism: (noun) the greedy pursuit of riches.
(screencaps-Richard Armitage Central)

The TAE Word for the Day is brought to you by that sexy, seductive bad boy, John Mulligan. John, the product of a broken home who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, appears to have made a smashing success of himself in the real estate business.

However, the truth is John is engaging in some very unlauful activities to help support his lavish lifestyle. It seems Johnnie Mulligan is engaging in mammonism and doesn’t care about those he might hurt along the way.

Mulligan may be an amoral criminal and liar who is immersed in mammonism, but I gotta say–he is one delicious bad boy.

  1. Now I’m going to have to go watch “Moving On” instead of the next episode of “Damages”!

Darn, darn, darn! It’s going to be such a chore but I’ll take one for the team (as in Team Armitage)!

  2. Actually, Angie my dear…I think I’ll have to admit defeat and go lie down as the good old FMS is bad again today. It’s even making it hard for me to appreciate looking at His Gorgeousness as much as I usually do…….so you know it must be bad. But, never fear, I’ll survive.

    ‘night, ‘night

  3. I’m taking a break from watching the new “Jane Eyre.” Less than an hour in and I’m finding it very slow going. *yawn* Mia Wasikowska is very good (plus she’s an Aussie!) but Michael Fassbender? Nuh-uh. It’s the first time I’ve seen him in any role and quite frankly, he does nothing for me, he’s not a patch on our TDHBEW. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I much prefer Toby Stephens’ Rochester in the BBC Jane Eyre of a few years ago.
Maybe I’ll follow kathryn’s suggestion and watch Moving On!

    • I have to admit, the second half picked up considerably, and I’ve ended up quite enjoying it. It was good to see Holliday Grainger and Harry Lloyd from RH in this movie. Don’t think I’ll ever be a MF fan though!

      • I enjoyed the new Jane Eyre. (I have it on DVD along with the Toby/Ruth version and Timothy Dalton’s version–LOVED Dalton in the role) I thought Mia was excellent, such an expressive young actress and I look forward to seeing much more from her. And yes, Holliday and Harry were welcome sights. Harry was also in the first season of Game of Thrones looking and acting very different from Will Scarlett. And of course, Holliday is now Lucrezia Borgia. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I like Fassbender fine–I have seen him in several things now–but he is not ever going to be on the same level as RA is for me. But then–who is??

        • I know I’ve said it before but the one thing that really irks me about the Toby/Ruth version of Jane Eyre is that they put a sex scene in it, which was SO not in the book! And people take issue with the kissing scene in N&S!?

  4. Great word Angie! It definitely describes John Mulligan to a T. RA really does make a woman love the bad boys, doesn’t he? And the feigning sleep…he can do that any time he wants. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • So much fun discovering new words and ways to apply them to the ChaRActers. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Richard’s bad boys are simply delectable. He feigns sleep better than anybody, I do believe.

      • How come he looks so good when he feigns sleep? Actually that is a silly question!! As we know SO well he looks good whatever he does but I have to say there is something very poignant about the way he looks when he is “asleep” and rather vulnerable. I’m going to admit to something really silly here – please don’t pass this on girls as if anyone found out they would be really concerned about my mental state (at my age they’d call it dementia or some such thing!) – but I have a picture of Richard that I printed off; this one from the SB Premier;

        http://www.richardarmitagenet.com/images/gallery/Richard/EventsandAppearances/Strike-Back-Premiere-15Apr10/album/slides/SBPremiere22.html

and while I write my journal in bed at night I have it propped up on a spare pillow beside me where he keeps me company then I slip it down under the duvet when I’m ready to sleep!! Told you I was silly, didn’t I????????? As you now know that, I’ll let you in on another secret! I have a smaller Lucas picture INSIDE my journal as well as one from the NY Premier of Captain America! Loving the beard, the white shirt and the light grey suit!! Oh dear!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Now I’ve really “outed ” myself!!!

        • Remember, Teuchter,

What happens in Armitage World, stays in Armitage World. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Your secret is safe with us. If it makes you feel any better, when I spent some time with my sister after the cruise, I had the autographed ohoto of Richard Benny gave me in my carry-on with me. *blushes*

I thought he looked really handsome at the SB premiere and I loved his look at the NYC premiere of CA. I agree, the grey suit, white shirt and the beard–along with the more relaxed and confident air he exuded–was very appealing.

  5. I am such a hopeless case where the chaRActers are concerned, especially the bad boys ;), that I had forgiven naughty John B’s mannonism even before I knew about it!

Anytime he’d like to come round with some chips and then feign sleep is fine with me too. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Of course, I am the same way. I think the minute Bad Boy Mulligan showed up on Ellie’s doorstep with that gorgeous smile, I was a goner. And the image of him standing there holding up the fish and chips with that twinkle in his eyes . . . *sigh* Who among us can blame Ellie? Trouble should NOT look so good.
