And speaking of Monet . . .

This is another Monet video of mine in HD, with quotes and paintings from the “real” Monet, lovely screencaps of the “reel” Claude and music by Yo-Yo Ma and friends. Perhaps this is also Monet Monday?

    • Thanks so much. One of the big reasons I chose Yo-Yo Ma is that not only do I love cello music but there’s the tie-in to Richard’s own musical background. I thought Richard would enjoy this music, too. And yes, i would love to hear him play the cello. πŸ˜€

  1. Even though I didn’t come close to playing like Yo-Yo Ma when I played the instrument many moons ago, (even thought I did make it into the school orchestra!) I still love to listen to cello music and he is a master! And add me to the list of those who want to hear and/or see Richard play!! πŸ˜€ I laughed when he said that it would be nice to hear the cello played at the “Rise up Christchurch” fundraiser “if it was played by Yo-Yo Ma” – or words to that effect!!

    • Yes, he was his useful modest, self-depreciating Richard when referring to playing the cello. And I am sure, since it has been a long time since he played regularly, he would feel rather rusty at this point. And we all know he wants to put his best foot forward when he performs.

I am so glad my search for cello music on iTunes led to that particular album. I love the combination of traditional American music with the classical and I have used several of the songs for videos.

  2. There’s a photo manip out there of Richard playing a cello. Somehow I think that’s the closest we’ll get to seeing the real thing unfortunately. 😦
I was going to link but it’s huge; just google Richard Armitage cello in images.

  3. There’s a lot of things that i can’t do without thinking of Richard. I remember my days in band and orchestra and think of him. I work out and I wonder if he went for a run or went to the gym on that particular day. Does he like yoga?? I compare every actor to him, etc. And I feel really ridiculous admitting that!

    • Laurie, I think it probably happens to most if not all of us. I see anything about Hyundai–there is a huge plant “up the road” from us and we have two of their suppliers in our town–I think of Richard’s voice-overs for their commercials and the way he says “Hi-Yoon-dai” which makes me smile. I eat chocolate and I think of his “chocolate mountain” and that wonderful chocolate voice of his. I watch old movies and imagine Richard in the rolea . . . right now it’s To Catch a Thief.
Wouldn’t he make a splendid former jewel thief known as “The Cat?” πŸ˜‰

    • Laurie, you’re not the only one! I do the same thing most days, more so now that he’s “close by”; some thoughts are fleeting, other times he’s stuck in my head for ages. I wash my car, and I wonder about his. Is it garaged while he’s in NZ or are his family looking after it? I work in the garden and think of him pulling the ivy off his roof. When I get up of a morning, I know that he’s only a couple of hours ahead of me and wonder what he’s doing, studio or location? He mentioned having porridge for breakfast in an interview once and I think of him when I eat mine. Did TH cast and crew have an Oscars party? And so on it goes…

    • You shouldn’t worry, Laurie, I’ve been experiencing the same “symptoms” since early January, as described by yourself and Mezz! πŸ™‚ That’s just the effect RA has on me. I’m under his spell. It’s a nice place to be! πŸ™‚
