Thorin’s hair wear: which do you prefer– loose lion’s mane or tidy ponytail?

Are you quite taken with Thorin’s long, loose flowing locks, perfect for tossing and whipping about in a regal alpha dwarf sort of way? Or do you find you fancy a tidy ponytail cascading down his broad back? Is it all good no matter how Thorin rocks the locks? Do tell!

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. I love them both equally! Richard rocks that long-haired look, doesn’t he?

Before we started seeing all the Thorin photos, I didn’t think I’d be as enamoured of his mane as I am of Guy’s but I’m almost prepared to say I like it even more than Guy’s!!!!!!

I sent the link for the vlog to Matthew and Melanie, along with a couple of other shots – Richard at the press conference Feb 2011 and in his tux at the BAFTAs! I couldn’t resist adding that he out-Bond’s Bond to see what Matthew will say!

      • You really think I can choose? Do I have to? *wah!* The wild loose mane looks great, but I think I’d prefer the ponytail for practical reasons — keeps the hair out of the eyes, the mouth, the food, machinery with moving parts, etc. I have never before found myself so keenly attracted to a man with a ponytail, not even in my dreams of an 18th century swashbuckler.

  2. Thirty-six hours later and the ponytail still has the edge over the mane for me, but then I gaze upon that third pic of Thorin in all his glory and I’m wavering!! I think it’s because they’re separate in my mind; the mane equals Thorin, but the ponytail is Richard.

    • Ahh, now I understand, Mezz.

And why aren’t you in bed? It IS 12.15am Sunday, you know!!!

      🙂 😉

‘night, ‘night (I’ve just been watching and listening to Richard read “The Lost Acorn” on ceebeebies!)

    • Yeah, now that I have seen that wonderful pic of him from the back standing there taking a pic, I associate the ponytail with the real Richard. The majestic cascading mane of hair is the “reel” Richard aka Thorin.
