Yet More Guy Day Friday! Videos

Alpha was the very first Guycentric fanvid I ever made, the first of many.  Duran Duran’s Hungry Like a Wolf was one of my favorite 80’s songs and it seemed perfect for our alpha male Sir Guy, who used the wolf symbol on his gloves and clothing, and was definitely a man with animal magnetism.

And then there’s Goldfrapp’s very sexy song “Oh la la” which I have used twice, once with Lucas and once with the glorious Sir Guy. “Child of Venus, you’re just made for love . . .” Oh. YEAH.

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. Yes, even Prince John found him irresistible, didn’t he? He almost kissed Guy in that scene! He did look a bit gay that Prince. Although I think Guy would have the power to turn straight men into gay men…

    • The Sheriff? I never had the impression he particularly cared for Guy in any sense of the word really. He was way too much into himself, I thought.

      • Oh, I think the sheriff “liked” Guy, but not in a fatherly or mentor-like way. I think he lusted after him. Notice the sheriff never seemed particularly interested in women? How he was always looking for an excuse to get touchy-feely with Guy when trying to reassure or persuade hime? Was always referring to females as “lepers?”

For a family show, there were an awful lot of kinky undertones IMHO.

        • You have a point Angie…I only watched the whole RH series once, so I may have missed some undertones. I thought the Sheriff wasn’t interested in women because he only ever loved one person and that was himself. But yes, come to think of it he did touch Guy quite a lot…The Treacherous Git!

          • The sheriff was in love with himself, but I think he also had some, shall we say, kinky tastes? I wouldn’t have been surprised if he was into S&M. The sadistic part of it. The hands rubbing Guy’s shoulders, the way Vasey would cup his face–even egged poor Guy to give him a kissie, which was too much even for Guy. Poor Guy . . .

          • Oh no doubt about it, the Sheriff would like the “S” part and not the “M” part.. *shudders*.,,, I find it interesting that Guy is often described as the “sadistic henchman” but Vasey is a lot more sadistic than Guy. At least Guy was capable of loving (or is capable, since he’s SND)! 🙂

            • I have thought about that, too, re the sadistic label. If you think about it, the heinous crimes Guy committed weren’t technically crimes because the sheriff ordered them and his word was law. As his employee, Guy was bound to do his bidding. This was the 12th century and it wasn’t a kinder, gentler world.

I never felt like Guy really enjoyed the killing in the way Vasey seemed to. It was more like, “OK, I have to do it, it’s my job, let’s get it over with.” I felt like part of Guy tried to distance himself from what he was doing. Vasey kept telling him humanity was weakness and even though Guy tried to bury his humanity in his efforts to become wealthy and powerful, it kept becoming more and more evident in him. As for the sheriff, Vasey said it best: “Underneath this harsh surface is–more harsh surface.” I believe he said that right before he killed his tax collector. 😉

      • Sure he does. In fanfic at least, he was your first. And I think he loves you, too; you feed him Blue Bell ice cream and gooey brownies, and write him stories. Of course, you love the SND hot velveteen knight the best.

        • He was my first RA character. The first fanfic I wrote was about Lucas, but Guy was the first character about whom I wrote a multichapter fic and he seems to be the one with the strongest claim on my heart. He is the first character Loved Into Being. 😀

  2. Heh-heh. I like to think that Guy has some of the best qualities of the wolf. However, “Alpha” does make me want to ask, “Yeah, it sucks working for Vasey, but you’ve got dental cover, right?” That “wolf” has beautiful teeth, all the way back to his molars.

    • Yay for the Nottingham Castle and Russian Prison dental plans! 🙂 Btw, haven’t RA’s teeth been straightened or something? If he’s still a smoker, he’d need regular whitening too.

      • His original teeth had their own particular charm, they weren’t the generic white, straight and even ones he has now. I do love his smile regardless though. 🙂

        • He dazzled me with his smile before the cosmetic dentistry. It had a quirky charm. His new teeth are more matinee idol in appearance, but any way you look at it, he’s got a beautiful, genuine, heartfelt smile. 😀
