The Man in Black: A behind-the-scenes look at Sir Guy via video

Standard

His aim is true. The ruffled dark hair, the heavy stubble--is that a hint of the Tongue of Concentration?--those bare arms with their reddish hairs. Just lovely.

I never tire of looking at photos of Richard as his characters, but I have an extra-special love of the glimpses we get of the man himself as he prepares for, or is filming a role. Here he practices with his sword during Hood Academy.

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. Angie, this is one of my favourite videos! How great it was to watch it again! Thank you for brightening up my gloomy Sunday night! 🙂

    • It’s one of my favorites, too. 😀 Richard is so wonderful to watch in interviews and behind the scenes. And when he talks with his hands, too . . . what a treat. Those hands are so beautiful and so expressive. Also I find it endearing because I, too, talk with my (considerably less beautiful) hands. Glad I could brighten things up for you. 😀

  2. Angie, let me second Judit’s thanks. I have been sick all week, bronchitis and cough and you have kept it upbeat all weekend long for me. You are a gem.

  3. I love these behind the scenes shots. Just when you think he couldn’t possibly look more stunning along come these pictures and I am just blown away. There is something truly special about how he looks with that longer stubble and tousled hair! *sigh*

Get well soon Gracie. I’m sure the video helped! He is a tonic all on his own! 🙂

  4. I’m another one who simply adores these candid shots. Heavens, he’s stunning, even when he’s scruffy. I imagine that’s how he looked when he got out of bed in the morning; stubble, gorgeously mussed hair…yummmm.

Hope you’re feeling better, gracie. 🙂

      • Ohhhh, I’m sure I wouldn’t want to let him out. 😉
Of course, I also have an updated image in my head of how he looks just out of bed, with the beard and his hair probably being too short to look mussed, but imagination is a wonderful thing! 🙂

      • “Darling, you want to go running?! I can think of something much more delightful, just as much exercise, and you don’t have to get dressed…” *puts nice warm hands on nice warm parts*
