Blue Monday–in the nicest sort of way

Richard Armitage’s blue eyes. The blue-tinted lighting of Spooks. His blue sweaters and shirts. Those silky blue sheets of Lucas’s. It’s Blue Monday with RA. Some lovely pix and a slideshow video tribute set to a Gershwin classic (what else?) Rhapsody in Blue.

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. A lovely selection in blue! So glad I made this my last stop of the night before turning the computer off and going to bed. Sweet dreams (in blue, no doubt)!

  2. That first pic!!! I think I have a new favourite photo of Richard! Where is that from? A photoshoot? There is my new wallpaper for my home PC…Ohmygod. Words fail me! Love the Rhapsody in Blue video! 🙂

          • I’ve always been attracted to guys with long, graceful necks but not to this degree! RA’s neck is… unique. As is the rest of him! 🙂

            • Me, too, Judit, on liking a long, graceful neck on a man. Men with very short squatty necks just do NOT appeal to me. Henno has a rather short, squatty neck as I recall. Of course, he’s like extra-fatty ground beef compared to the melt-in-your mouth goodness of the finest quality of filet mignon that is Richard Armitage. 😀

          • Thanks, that’s very generous of you Angie! 🙂 That photoshoot must have been BP (Before Porter) because he looks a bit on the thin side here! That’s his Lucas Season 7 look!

            • Those were shot in 2008 so, yes–that was pre-Porter and around the time of shooting the first Spooks. In some of the photos from that shoot he looks really, really lean, bless his heart.

          • Yes, I know, I had a look at the Canning photoshoot last night on RANet. 101 stunning photos, what a feast for the eyes! The blue shirt photos are definitely my favourites! The red cardigan is a bit too nerdy for my liking (that’s not to say he doesn’t look gorgeous in it, mind you!). The white shirt pics made him look a bit washed out (still gorgeous though!).

            • I like the blue top ones the best, as well. The cardigan makes me think a little too much of Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, a long-running children’s show here in the states.

  3. Oh, those eyes! They are piercing! They are expressive! They are Beautiful!!! He looks good in blue too! But those baby blue’s, ooooo!!! He doesn’t have to touch, speak or even be in the room; just use those eyes and a whole legion of women just melt!!! (The rest of the man is awesome, too…but those eyes!)

    • Eyes are the feature I notice first when I meet someone. Eyes and then smiles and whether those two connect. You know, is that smile reflected in the person’s eyes, is it genuine, is it spontaneous, or is it forced, false. With Richard, we see that dazzling smile reflected in his beautiful, expressive eyes, which makes the smiles all the more gorgeous. And he does look simply heavenly in baby blue. “Heaven, I’m in heaven . . .”

      • Right there with you. A girlfriend and I discussed what features we notice first: eyes, voice, and hands. Richard has all that, and all the rest of it, too.
