He Ain’t Tall, But He’s My Hairy Hottie: Some Thorin for Thursday

Standard

Thorin Oakenshield: brave, determined, fierce, heroic, an amazing warrior and uncrowned king.

Who is also very hairy and on the short side. Well, he is a dwarf, after all.

And I love him from the top of his long-maned head with its charming pointy ears to the tips of his boot-shod feet.
You might say Thorin is my hairy hottie. *sigh* And I think he’s just dreamy.
“I will follow him, wherever he goes . . .”

Oh, Thorin, you look so fine on that shaggy pony of yours! 😉

I love the expression on Thorin's face here and the stance. So---Guy-like!

I wonder if Thorin's Creator ever finds himself getting a crick in his lovely neck from the unaccustomed need to look up at other actors for a change?

He may be vertically challenged, but Thorin stands tall in the realm of Middle-Earth.

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. I visited a friend this morning whose young adult daughter is a real Tolkien fan. When she mentioned LOTR I asked her if she was looking forward to TH in December, as I was. The look on her face was priceless! We ended up sharing a lovely few minutes talking about the vlogs. I didn’t tell her WHY I’m so keen on seeing the movie though. As much as I enjoyed the book, my interest is solely on one hot dwarf! 😉

    • My eldest nephew (he’s 25) is a Tolkien fan too, and last time I visited them we chatted about TH. We even watched the trailer together on their huge flat screen TV (it has an in-built PC-very clever). It was so exciting, my heart almost jumped out of my chest when Thorin appeared! I didn’t tell my nephew either why I got so interested in TH all of a sudden! 🙂 But it was good to hear him say that he thinks the movie is going to be good!! In fact he said it’s going to be the 2nd best movie of the year (can’t remember which film he named as the potentially best movie of the year…it hasn’t got RA in it so…).

      • Well, of course WE can’t imagine a better movie than TH! And I do think it will be one of the very best of the year, even to those out there who aren’t rabid RA fans! 😉
