The Accessorizing Sergeant

Standard

Sgt. Porter and his cool shades. And those scarves that showcased his swan-like neck and allowed him to look so mysterious and sexy when used to mask his face.. His uniform beret and his bush hat. Those bracelets that look just swell on those slender wrists. Let’s face it, the sergeant is not just handsome and heroic, he’s great at accessorizing, too!

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. Ooooo, those accessories!! Whether it’s a scarf, shades, or those bracelets, JP looked sooo pulled together. I’m afraid our RLR or (Real Life Richard) needs to take a lesson in fashion from the sexy Sargent!!!

  2. Time for the holographic paperdolls, methinks… On the other hand, if real-life Richard dressed with the panache of some of his characters, he might not be able to walk down the street unmolested even in his own neighborhood.

      • I think it would be fun to take Richard shopping and help him pick out some clothes. I am envisioning
Sweetie John’s shopping expedition before his wedding. 😉 Although I don’t know that RA would be quite so excited about it as John was.

          • I used to be my family’s “personal shopper.” 😉 My brother-in-law suggested I do it as a job. Apparently when he was growing up his family had a lady who went to New York a couple of times a year to shop for them (Ponce, Puerto Rico having limited shopping opportunities) . . . of course, he is the only person I know who grew up with a chauffeur (other than his mom). LOL

            • My friend and I go every week. We are always on the look out for the best bargain we can get. High quality at the lowest possible price. It’s like an addiction. Shoes, jewelry, clothes, purses, antiques, it’s all good. When I get a compliment on something and I think, ya I got this awesome purse for about 75 -90% off retail, I feel good! I even search ebay and amazon for the lowest prices on make-up!!

              • I wish you both could be MY personal shoppers, Angie and Laurie! I HATE shopping myself. When RA said he hates it too I was like “goodie, we do have something in common”! 🙂

  3. I know actors sometimes are given their characters’ clothes, but I wonder do they get to keep clothing from photoshoots as well?

    • I wonder, too. Some of those photoshoot clothes look really good on him, and they’re things he could wear comfortably in real life. He has said he loves to ski. I wonder what his ski outfits are like. Holographic paperdolls again — luscious silk underwear, handkit wool socks, bibs that show off … well, everything, and a scrumptious blue turtleneck, and … yeah, like that. I hate shopping, but if I were doing it for him, I could get over it, fast.

      • I loved a lot of those coats he sported for that Recognise shoot. And if he doesn’t have a blue scarf he needs to get one. Wonderful with his eyes. The shirt he wore in the black and white leaning against the wall one we all love really showcases his physique and still looks very comfy. I think shopping for him would be fun because you could have so much fun imagining how all the things would look on him, and then actually dressing him . . . ahhhh.

          • There’s a reason why the ChaRActer’s ladies in my fanfic thoroughly enjoy helping them undress. 😉 And in Rebecca’s case in TAC, she delights in dressing Guy and grooming his hair and helping him with his eye makeup–she may be a succubus, but she loves, loves, loves her Guy. Not that I blame her at all . . . *sigh*

      • I was specifically thinking of the hot pink shirt he’s wearing on TAE’s background photo..Do you think he’d wear it in RL? He seems to have a penchant for black clothes in RL…But doesn’t that pink shirt look AWESOME on him?

        • Well, obviously I LOVE him in that hot pink shirt. 😉 I think part of his penchant for black is it’s easy–doesn’t take a lot of thinking it out and we know he’s not keen about fashion (although black is certainly a good color for him). The pink is perfect with his coloring and I love the way it brings out the hue of his lips. Really masculine men can pull off wearing such colors (much as Richard as Guy pulled off all the makeup).
