For Charlotte & fellow RA beard lovers . . . hirsute goodness

Standard

I heard from Charlotte Hawkins via Twitter the other day and she greatly admires the lovely background photo of our Richard. Obviously, it is a favorite of mine. He looks so suave and handsome in his hot pink shirt, its hue bringing out the color of that tempting lower lip. There is a slight intriguing furrow in his brow, lush lashes attracted displayed on those downcast eyes as he adjusts his tie with his beautiful hand (honestly. How can one human being have so many attractive physical features?)

And there’s the beard. Charlotte loves the beard, as do many of us.  I think even some of the Anti-Beard Contingent  have grown fond of the Bearded Beauty. Honestly, I love Richard’s looks in every phase: long hair, medium, short, clean-shaven, stubble, light and heavy and now the beard.  I’ve gotten so accustomed to him wearing those whiskers it will be an adjustment to see him clean-shaven/stubbled again, as if meeting an old and long unseen friend (“Why, hello, gorgeous jawline! Lovely to see you again . . .”) The man can rock so many different looks so very well.

I suspect the beard, like his darker hair color, will come and go and change as required for future roles. I confess I would be tickled pink to see him with the S3 Guy hair and his current beard. And maybe, just a teeny weeny bit of Guyliner? Masculine beauty to marvel at.

I am looking forward to seeing Mr. A on the big screen in a few months, with his flowing Thorin locks complete with those fetching little braids and his beard. He is going to be one handsome and regal dwarf king.  And I am loving playing with RA’s distinctive beauty in Photoshop, including his beardy goodness.  Ah, with Mr. A, it’s ALL good.  Beauty and charm and that natural elegance for all seasons.

  1. I love Richard any which way, but he is particularly delicious in the pink shirt pic. If and when the beard finally comes off and I see his beautiful jawline again for the first time, I have a feeling I may be reduced to a puddle of goo. 😉

  2. I’m not usually a fan of beards, but it sure looks awesome on Richard. 🙂
Actually, come to think of it, some men do look better bearded than clean shaven, one example for me is Hugh Laurie. I find him quite attractive with a beard, not so much when he’s clean shaven. Must have something to do with the shape of his face. 🙂

  3. I agree with Mezz! He rocks the pink shirt! Will December ever get here? This RA drought is killing me!

  4. I wonder how easy or comfortable the beard is for him. I’ve known men who grow them in winter, then shave in late spring until autumn, usually men who ride motorcycles or bicycles. The location shoot is supposed to end this July, when it is winter in NZ, so he might keep it at least that long, maybe longer if he takes time to go skiing there. Then there’s the promotions for the film, the usual round of interviews and talk shows, the premieres, etc.
I have not been a fan of beards, but Richard sure looks great with his, and that hot pink shirt, OMG…

    • I know he has said before he doesn’t like shaving all that much, so he’d be spared that, at least. Benny grew a beard in the winter several years ago but it was just too itchy and hot in the summer months. He kept it really well groomed. For me, beards depend on the man wearing them. Brad Pitt had that obscenity on his chin for a while and I think he DID look like a vagrant. Of course, he’s never been my cuppa tea, either. My college roommate’s boyfriend was very handsome but he had a somewhat weak chin, and a beard disguised that. Richard takes on a more mature and more intensely masculine look with his beard, I think. And I really think he needs some hot pink in his wardrobe. 😉

      • It really does depend on the man. Some guys look like woebegone wookies. Others look like Cousin It. Still others look like Jesus wannabes. Still others just look scruffy and unkempt. Richard is one of the very few men I’ve seen who can make it look good.

  5. Common ladies, you know you prefer that pink shirt OFF! lol

Too me, it is the biceps on the last picture. Those are beautiful strong arms. The kind that can and knows how to hold someone tightly.

    • Well, of course we do, but he has to be able to go out in public occasionally without causing any woman with a clear sight line to *thud*. Can you see the havoc he would cause if he got on the Tube shirtless? Further, at least in the U.S., there are those signs on restaurants and bars, “No shirt, no shoes, no service.” Yet if he showed up shirtless for one of those talk shows, the woman would not just drop her papers — she would be struck dumb! At least that would stop the stupid circus question.
