It’s Thursday and here’s some Thornton, dear ladies

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. YAY! Wonderful photos, Angie. I’m not sure I can wait for Friday for the North & South Global Armitage Watch, I just may cheat and start tomorrow night. 🙂

    • Oh, I love when he’s with the little boy! When guys are good with little kids it really does something to me! (Kindergarten age people are the one I spend most of my time with!) I can just imagine him with his nephew! Double sweet 😉

      • Y’all remember when I posted the pics of my husband with our great-niece? Just thinking about them enteracting makes me melt a bit. It’s the same way when I look at Mr. Thornton and the child. “Have you had any supper?” One suspects Mr. Thornton would be a sometimes stern but nonetheless loving and devoted father.

        • Yes, it was a very sweet photo! 🙂 Nothing wrong with being stern with children sometimes – in fact being too liberal can have its drawbacks.

            • Amen, Angie. I hate the pals-at-any-price approach as much as I hate mindless authoritarianism. What a child needs is to be taught self-discipline and ethical principles, compassion and thoughtfulness, and responsibility. There’s no need for corporal punishment, just consistent limits and firm teaching.

  2. Lovely, lovely images. I still remember the first time I saw N&S. I won’t be able to join the Global Watch, but I hope all of you will enjoy it. (And they have doubts about global warming??!)

  3. The Global watch is when RA fans all over the world watch North & South on the same day? I think I can manage that. It would have to be after I get off work tomorrow. It has been a few weeks since I’ve watched N&S anyway. Mr. Thornton is my favorite Armitage character too. I like to think that Harry Kennedy is Mr. Thornton reincarnated years later. 🙂

  4. Okay, time to get ready for work. Everyone have a wonderful day thinking about our Richard Armitage! OMG I love his surname. Armitage sounds so masculine and protective.

    Happy Thursday!
