I just can’t get enough.

I hope none of you are tired of looking at Thorin yet. I can’t seem to stop looking at him. Or playing with his image. He’s captivating. Mesmerizing. Alluring.  Oh yeah, and –HOT.  I’d follow him anywhere.

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. I read this morning that pinot grigio wine sales are up by 40% because CG drinks it in that book that shall not be named, and MovieFix have a digital mockup of him created by a British academic using the same imaging software as police.
Puhleeese, people!! See that stunning dwarf above? Now, HE is what “it’s” all about! 😉

Gorgeous pics, Angie, I couldn’t choose a favourite. He takes my breath away whenever and however I see him. Yep, he owns me alright.

    • My post on said trilogy just got reblogged by someone who apparently had been looking for a voice of reason concerning these books. Geez, I read all the damn books and I couldn’t have told you what he drank. There’s obviously a lot of it I have already forgotten. Which is probably a mercy.

Give me the mature hottie dwarf anytime. He could kick Christian Grey’s ass (which can’t possibly be as divine as his) from here to Kingdom Come without breaking a sweat OR using a weapon. And without his whips and chains and shackles, Mr. Grey is just a bad-tempered adolescent with serious mommie issues. Gosh, I am feeling sarcastic tonight!!

You wanna talk about charismatic? Exhibit A. A certain Thorin Oakenshield for your consideration. I rest my case.

      • *grins* My comment was twice as long and just as sarcastic, but I thought I’d better pull my head in and edited before posting!
Thorin may be half the height (just how tall is he btw?) but he has a hundred times the stature of the likes of CG.
Hmmmm, I think the last one might have the edge over the others. I’m a sucker for sepia tones and the blurring is dreamy, just like he is. 😉

        • Actually, I think I read somewhere Thorin is four feet tall, or maybe a little over. He’s on the tall side for a dwarf, it seems. Wow, a foot and a half shorter than I am! Thorin’s got character and class. Two qualities CG lacks in spades IMHO.

I think that’s called a focus blur effect on the sepia. That’s where the center of the photo stays in focus, and the blurring around the edges gives it that dream-like quality. Unlike the Orton effect where the entire photo is put slightly out of focus. I like it a lot, too. 😀

  2. I can promise you we’ll never tire of this image! It took my breath away at first viewing and the same happens each time I see it – no matter what colour you make it! 🙂 Have to say the last one is quite swoonworthy! Just one look into those eyes and I do believe he “owns me” too!! 😀

  3. I never get tired of looking at this particular picture either Angie. I am mesmerized by it. I made color copies of it. I have one up on my cubicle wall at work and then brought the rest home. I did shrink one down to carry in the side pocket of my Kindle cover. Richard Armitage is simply the most gorgeous, handsome and sexiest man to ever walk this planet as far as I am concerned. I find myself constantly reaching for this photo and the ones of him playing Lucas North. I will never tire of looking at this man.

I was thinking yesterday how fortunate we are that the internet exists. If it was not for the internet I never would have heard of the movie North & South and would not know who Richard Armitage is. RA has been around for years, but it has only been 7 months since I’ve known that RA even exists in the world. I will never forget that afternoon in January when I decided to finally watch North & South. I had it in my Netflix queue to stream for days before i decided to go ahead and watch it. That started it all for me. I replayed the ending several times before Googling RA to find out more about him. That is when I came across all these blogs about him.

I do try to keep in my crush on RA in check though. There is no way in heck that I would ever take vacation and go abroad just to show up at his front door as a former fan did. That sure takes a lot of balls. I would never have the nerve to do such a thing.

Watching movies that aren’t my style is as far as I am taking my RA crush. You all already know that I never would have watched RH or Spooks if RA was not in it. I still have not watched Strike Back and to be honest if RA was not in The Hobbit there is a good chance that I would never go to see it. Now I plan to be one of the first people standing in line to see it in December.

I have a Richard Crispin Armitage board on my pinterest page and my photos of RA keeps getting repinned by other users. I wonder if RA has any idea of the scope of his popularity among the world’s female population.

  4. I think this picture must be from flashbacks of the young Thorin. He doesn’t have any of the gray that he’ll have later. He looks so lovely! It makes me sigh every time I see it. And, yes, Xenia, thank goodness for the internet. I know Richard wouldn’t have as many fans as he does without it. I watched N&S on Netflix a couple of years ago, too. That started my journey into the awesomeness that is Richard Armitage!!

I’ve got to remember to hit post. Lately, I’ve been writing comments and forgetting to post. Then, when I check back later…no comment.

    • If you read the analysis by tORN staff, they point out this is a flashback to a younger Thorin. Not only is there no grey in his hair, he also has a different weapon, one that predates the legendary Orcrist. I can only imagine all the dwarf maidens swooning over this hunky younger dwarf. 😉 PS Laurie one of your comments went into spam for some reason. I indicated it was not spam, but I don’t think they then send it back into the comments folder. ??
