These are so charming! “Goodnight, Sweet Prince” reminds me that Thorin has quite a bit in common with Hamlet, including a heroic but tragically dead father who leaves his son a nasty, dangerous task. Part of me yells, “To blazes with the novel; I want Thorin to live!!”
Meanwhile, Lucky just pulled my drying smalls down on top of himself, silly boy. He’s getting a proper kitten belly now, and his purr is getting louder when I pet him and groom him.
Glad you liked. I have a few more new ones I will share later. Still trying to figure out how to get a decent photo of this one image that fascinates me from the visual guide. I will play around with the camera later. You are right, Hamlet’s story definitely bears some relation to Thorin’s. And I feel the same way; I don’t want our beautiful, fierce, brave dwarf to die, either.
Well, they do say “playful as a kitten” for a reason. π Lucky sounds like a well-cared-for and happy little fellow. π
Well, I did write a fic where he meets his lady on the Rainbow Bridge and they get to be SND together in Valhalla.
Well, when I rolled Lucky on his back to scratch his tummy, there was the tiniest evidence in the right place, so I’m going to assume he’s male. He will, however, be neutered when he is a few months older.
My “Baby” Buddy is 5 months old now! He’s gone from 1 and 1/2 lbs to 8 and 1/2 pounds in 4 months!!! He’s taken over this house! My curtains are tied in knots because he climbs them, the blinds are all wonky, he “cleaned” the top of the bookshelf off so he could lay down on top (breaking a lamp in the process), etc, etc, etc! But he’s sooo cute and sweet! One day soon he’ll be a sleepy lump and all of the fun of kitten hood will be replaced by another level of wonderful companionship! Then I can replace the blinds, the sheers and the lamp!!
Good luck with little Lucky! They are so much fun!
Thanks. Buddy sounds like a great companion. I know, kitten chaos, but I just go with it. I haven’t weighed Lucky yet, but I’d be surprised if he’s more than a pound. At the rate he’s eating, he’ll be caught up soon.
I’m so glad he has a healthy appetite!! Please send me a pic of him as soon as you are able, I can’t wait to have a look at your darling little kitty! π
Little kittens are so cute and brave from the very beginning..I mean they can’t even walk in a stright line but they are ready to fight in any moment;)
Good luck with your Lucky, Leigh π
Thank you, Joanna. Lucky is gaining weight and growing visibly stronger in just the few days he’s been with me. After his midnight feeding (which he finished, good boy), he was purring on my chest and playing with my fingers. Then he fell asleep, woke up to have a drink, and went back to sleep on the blanket. He’ll probably wake up at 6:00 a.m. for his next feeding.
Thumper was this tiny kitten whose belly had been split open and leg almost gnawed off, about to drown in a rainstorm, and the lady who rescued her said she was still trying to get up and fight back. They are fluffy little cuties but they’ve got determination!!
your pics are great, the first one is so magical. Thorin is an amazing character, I try not to think about the end of the story, I want to enjoy the journey with him.

The film hasn’t even come out yet but Thorin has already joined the ranks of SND heroes! Lucky sounds really sweet&funny! So, he’s a boy! π

Kittens are certainly livewires. π I like to see my older cats sometimes revert to their kittenish selves from time to time. They are so cute. π

I wish I could drop by her house and snap a few with my Olympus but can’t quite manage it . . . π
They’re so fun! They have such distinct personalities! It’s so neat to see them develop especially when you get them so young.

I can just imagine the little darling. He must think he’s gone to heaven after living rough.

They’re so inspiring that way, that and their willingness to love in spite of their experiences.
Poor little creature π¦
