Agitated & Frustrated in Lower Alabama

Standard

OK, so today has gone to hell in a handbasket for me. Irritable Bowel Syndrome, too little sleep, a more or less non-functioning computer. This is the third time I’ve tried to post this. Maybe third time is the charm.

If you don’t see or hear from me for a bit, I am hoping to be able to watch the red carpet event via Benny’s desktop which is hooked to one of the flat screens. My only real option. I will try to catch up with everyone tomorrow, assuming this piece of junk decides to cooperate.

Hope you all have a wonderful night. Mr. A certainly looks handsome again today.

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. Well I quit! It plays about 3 seconds and stops…so I missed it anyway. Richard’s interview was an exercise in frustration. My internet is too slow. I hope it’s on You Tube tomorrow. Going to bed. I hope everyone who doesn’t live in the back of beyond and has good internet has a great time.

  2. I’m so sorry! Take care of yourself and know that my thoughts are with you. I missed Richard on the red carpet because my computer stuck on “loading” for five minutes. Now even Lucky is yawning.

  3. I missed Richard, too, for the same reason, Leigh. Livestreaming just doesn’t work for those of us who do not have faster DSL.:( I should have known better. *sigh* It’s just been a crappy day.

Good news is I do have a new computer (Benny got the one from Charles that he won and never used. It’s a pretty nice HP, certainly better than what I am stuck with right now) Of course, nothing is loaded on it yet, and I can’t even get the old computer to fire up at all anymore, so—I guess it will all work out eventually. Thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts. I’ve got an awful headache, time to take more aspirin. 😉 However, the IBS has somewhat settled down, happy to say.

I am just going to try to chill a little. Maybe some photos of RA will show up somewhere. Someone on Twitter at TORn said he looked “sharp.” Don’t doubt that.

    • Congrats on the new computer. You may have to get a techno-wizard to extract and read the hard drive off the old one. I’m glad the IBS has settled a bit; I hope it leaves you in peace now. Chilling is good. May the headache ease quickly and completely. RANet already has some good photos posted, and I suspect more may come. Serv has been screen-capping.

      • Techno-wizard has taken old computer to work to do just that, bless his wizardly heart. This one will have to go in with him to get some programs loaded to it on another day. Until then, i am a little limited in what I can do. Can’t access my email easily, for one thing. I have already snaffled several photos and will likely go to one of the online sites later and do some photo editing fun. 😉 And just think, more premieres to come!

  4. So sorry the technology didn’t work out for you, Angie. I had the same frustrating experience as you and others did. I’d get a few seconds of something, then it would freeze or cut off. Neither iPad nor computer would work. This gives me motivation to really learn how to use these gadgets. I did see eniugh to get a sense of what the scene was like, with that very long red carpet. Someone in the Army will have gotten pictures and will soon be posting them.

Thanks so much for all you do to keep your followers up to date with news, pictures, ooglings, bodaciousness, etc…

    • It’s infuriating when modern technology doesn’t work for us, isn’t it??*sigh* I think with our slower connection out here no matter what type of device I had used the results would sadly have been the same. But it’s been fun looking at what others captured.

      And you are welcome. 😀

  5. I’m really grateful for all the people who have been delivering pieces retroactively — that way I get to see things I haven’t seen.

  6. I hope the new computer works great for you. My husband could share the computer grief problems with you. The harddrive died last week, son 1 ordered him a new one and he put it in today for him. He only used mine a couple times to check e-bay. It is like stretching out a holiday, I am still reading blogs from Tuesday yet. I did go to bed that night having seen the red carpet photos and an interview. But five and a half hours later it was time to get up to go to work.
