Not only is the question of late, “Where in the world is Richard Armitage?” These days, it’s also “what in the world will Richard be wearing this time around?” Will he be rockin’ the retro? In traditional tailoring? Boyish or bold? We just have to wait and see. I told someone today I do not ever remember anticipating so eagerly what an actor would be wearing on a publicity tour!
Ilaria Urbatini has been doing a fabulous job so far (in my humble opinion) in putting Richard into fashions that fit well, flatter his coloring and his physique and also make him look like the charismatic star he is. The waxed wool suit was perfect for cutting-edge Tokyo and its dramatic premiere stage pyrotechnics. Richard–along with Tokyo–really rocked.
Tomorrow morning our globetrotter will be appearing at the unveiling of a special installation for The Hobbit at Union Station in Toronto–and it’s bright and early starting at 7 a.m. their time. (Hope he can sleep well on planes, bless his heart.) KISS 92.5 is giving away 100 tickets to Monday night’s premiere. After that, he’ll be taping a live show with Marilyn Denis at 10 a.m. with live streaming video.http://www.marilyn.ca/About/Schedule.aspx
After THAT, he will tape another TV show, a sold-out one, so I am told, at 3:15 p.m. with the air date not yet determined.
And Monday night it appears he may be the sole Hobbit star on the red carpet for the big premiere. Which designer will he be wearing, and what sorts of materials? Any guesses as to what stylist Ilaria will choose?
Good Sunday evening. My hair is freshly colored, although that white is still fighting to get through in front. I guess once your hair loses its pigmentation, it’s not anxious to have it restored.;) Now if I can just get it cut sometime between now and the weekend before Christmas, since we have our family celebration in Birmingham Dec. 22 and I would like to look less like a sheep dog.
As I said on Twitter this afternoon, to quote Hannah in Little Women, “Housekeeping ain’t no joke.” I am so tired tonight.
This afternoon we worked on sorting through the stacks of stuff that have accumulated in this house, deciding what to keep, what to toss and what to possibly sell on eBay or give away. Far from done but we made good headway. The problem is both of us are packrats and neither of us loves housework, so–you get the picture. Breaking my tailbone 13 months ago didn’t help the situation.
Speaking of pictures, I finally had to walk away from the stack of albums I had prepared for my late mother as I pawed through a box. I do love going through old photos, and knew I would never get anything accomplished if I didn’t turn my attentions elsewhere.
Of course, I also love looking at Mr. Armitage and his chaRActers’ photos–old, new, doesn’t matter–and playing with those glorious images. Can you blame me?
Well, you all know me and my love for all things festive and holiday-ish. 😉 And Richard Armitage-ish.
I think Ros has the right idea, don’t you?
alexipharmic: (adjective)(1) warding off poison or infection; antidotal; prophylactic. (2) an alexipharmic agent, especially an internal antidote.
Alexipharmic arose to prominence in the early Baroque period, from the Greek alexien, ‘to avert,’ and pharmakon, meaning ‘drug.’ Alexipharmic was the dominant adjective form until ‘antidotal’ overtook it in the 1640s. (courtesy of Dictionary.com)
Are you about to become infected by Real Life? Worries at work–worries you don’t have work–disagreements between friends–broken computers–broken hearts–holiday overload–neighbors from hell–nasty cold . . . Whatever the difficulty, the dilemma, the doubt, the darkness, somehow, this man and his ChaRActers seem to be alexipharmic.
Just looking at him, those smiles, those eyes, that profile, makes me feel some of life’s poison leach away.

I am going to attempt something almost unheard of around here for me: going to sleep before 1 a.m. I may not accomplish my goal, but I am gonna give it that old college try. There are things I really need to do tomorrow.
But before I don my sleep mask and turn on the white noise, let me lay out the table with a selection of delectables for you all to enjoy. Have a lovely Sunday and enjoy the latest smoRgAsbord!
