Will Black Sky be affected?

Check out our own Leigh’s great idea for a “Black Sky” premiere charity benefit in the comments!

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. I think the charity premiere benefit idea is a terrific one and I can absolutely see our own dear Mr. Armitage jumping on board immediately with it. Great suggestion, Leigh.

    • Thanks, Stephanie. I hope that Todd Garner and WB pick it up and run with it. The victims of the tornadoes need all the help they can get, it would be good PR for the studio, and likely increase the audience for the film. Richard gets to do charitable work, which we know he wants to do. Everybody wins. It seems like a natural. I just wish that if they do it, I could be able to go, but that won’t be possible.

      • It’s such a perfectly sensible idea (well, we all know what usually happens to perfectly sensible ideas when the Hollywood boys get going on them, don’t we?) But it’s such an obvious tie-in, and we all know how much Richard supports charity work–it will be a very long time before the devastation can be made livable again and so much money will need to be poured into it to make that happen. It breaks my heart.

        • Yeah, it’s been a little over two years since the storms that devastated part of our state, and things still aren’t completely back to normal. It takes a long time to come back from this level of destruction. I can only hope and pray the idea does take off and take hold. RA would definitely be on board for something like this–I am certain of it.

          • I am as well, especially since he just made the film late last summer–it strikes me as being the kind of thing he would wholeheartedly get behind and would be very sensitive to. After all, they did participate in the benefits for the New Zealand earthquakes while they were down working on “The Hobbit”.
