What I’ve Been Up To, Saturday Night Edition

First of all, I am short on sleep and took a muscle relaxer earlier and keep drifting in and out, so I disavow any really goofy mistakes. Got some wonderful salsa today at the farmers’ market from my friend Jeanie Cobb, who is a yoga instructor and fellow FMS sufferer. A very cool and caring lady. And her homemade salsa is seriously good-even the mild version packs a lovely little punch.  As Leigh pointed out, the capsaicin in the peppers is also good for pain relief.

Followed that up with a visit to CVS to use my ExtraCare Bucks before they expired–this has been known to happen on more than one occasion–and earned even more. Whoo-hoo!

And then on to Star Wars Day! Outdoor games at the pavilion, followed by face painting and arm tattoos, coloring contests, Star Wars bingo and more.  Spent most of my time at the library shooting with what I like to call Papa Bear Cam–the big professional-looking one–but I did take the SLR and shoot a few stills, too. Here are some of them . . .

A great turn-out and a good time appeared to be had by all.

Oh, and I have new HATS! Arrived this week.

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. Nice to see you enjoying the day and looks like a lot of fun (love the girl in the butterfly mask!) Great photos!

  2. Great pictures! I hope you had fun in spite of the FMS.

I make my own salsa here. The tomatoes are good, and right now they’re cheap. I like to use the sweet onions, garlic, roasted and finely diced chiles (I get Anaheim or Serrano here, although I’d rather have something hotter), fresh lime juice, cilantro, sea salt. and freshly ground black pepper. It lasts about 4 days in the fridge, if it doesn’t get eaten before then.
