One more event under our belts. Tired, but feeling good.

Tonight we videoed the retirement/65th birthday celebration for Yvonne Gulley, who served in the county school system for 30 years. I saw a lot of old acquaintances, including my former high school history teacher, shot  video and some stills and shared my good wishes with the honored lady and her family, who really went all out to give her a celebration to remember. The son who organized it lives in Omaha, where we were for five years during Benny’s AF days. It is a small world . . .

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

    • Thanks, hun. I think we will use Benny’s footage for the lion’s share of the video—he’s got a new light for Papa Bear camera and with the lighting in the clubhouse it really made a difference. The event lasted about three hours but I only shot about 40 minutes of video, mostly B roll stuff, and then shot some stills. It’s one of those events where two or even one person could have handled it, but it keeps us all in practice.
