Ah well, at least we finally have a date for it, even if it seems like a long way away . . . thoughts, anyone?

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. At last we have a date, but so long to wait. I am surprised we won’t see this in the spring but at least it gives time for WB to run a decent marketing effort over the summer.

    • Yes, until they shot the additional pickups, I was beginning to worry it might never make to the cinema; once they started doing that I felt better about its chances. Just glad to know there is a release date and yet another chance for RA to wow people at Christmas and into 2014 with his Thorin . . . and whatever else he may have up his sleeve. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • Don’t know, to be honest. On the other hand, in the UK, kids aren’t off school until August, but isn’t this film meant to be a 15 or something like that? Not a kids film, at any rate.

        • And here in the US, most kids are back in school by early to mid-August nowadays. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Summer break is more like two months than three. And I am not sure what the rating will be. Here we have G (very few rated that, even kid-oriented films) PG (parental guidance) PG-13 (No children under 13 without parents or guardian), R (No one under 17 admitted without adult) and N-17 (no one under 17 admitted, period. I hear the 50 Shades film may have that rating. ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

  2. Those timespans they are bandying about are truly vast and awfully long. Plenty of room for other occurrences. Adding that this film maybe never manages to come to German cinemas….. That doesn’t comfort me excessively!!
