My scars of happiness . . .”

I love all those crinkles, wrinkles, laugh lines–the “scars of happiness,” as poet Taylor Knott Gregson describes them. Tweak your nose if you must, Mr. A, but I hope there is never a need to actually tamper with the proof of your laughter, the visible symbol of that bonhomie you so splendidly embody. The promo photos, the official head shots, they will continue to be retouched, the lighting and cosmetics used to give you a more youthful look for the camera; still, we are glad to see the “real” you, that wonderful character shining through, displayed in every perfect imperfection.
