Well, it’s fun and when you can’t sleep, it’s a nice way to pass the time. A mixture of collages and FB covers I’ve made this week. Hope you enjoy!
Try saying the above 10 times fast. It’ll make you giggle.
It hasn’t been a wonderful winter for me (nor for many more of you–curse you, groundhog, why must we have six more weeks of this!?) But I am beginning to see glimpses of light at the end of this long, cold, wet and dreary tunnel. I got my first column of this new year for the paper written; nothing fancy but a sense of accomplishment. I’ve been playing with ideas for that story I promised dear Guylty. In spite of brain fog and a fibro flare (not helped by slamming into the wall on the way to the bathroom early this morning), I am feeling–hopeful. 😀
Here’s what it looked like a week ago outside my house. It’s mostly ice with a little snow mixed in. The ice paralyzed the Deep South for a couple of days.
I’ve been doing a lot of posting of words and images–some silly and some serious and some simply beautiful–on FB in recent days on my regular page, and lots of images and some of my vids of Mr. A and his characters at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Richard-Armitage-Effect/
Yes, I whipped up some new photo edits I premiered at FB and I thought I would share them with you all, in case you aren’t on FB. And even if you are–do we need an excuse to peruse Mr. A’s lovely, expressive features and admirable physique? I think not . . . have a wonderful Wednesday, my friends and fellow RA well-wishers!
A swath of the southern U.S. from Houston, Texas across the Gulf Coast right up the Atlantic Coast is expecting to experience sleet, freezing rain, snow and ice over the next couple of days. And that is big news, folks. We aren’t used to it and we aren’t equipped for it (goodness knows, local citizens who’ve never lived in other parts of the country as we have don’t know how to drive in it). And if we lose power in an ice storm, it’s gonna be kind of miserable around here for at least a little while.
See the Pepto-Bismol pink county with “Greenville” on the map below? Well, we live on the eastern edge of it. As one of my FB friends who posted this said, “Not a forecast you expect to see down at the beach.”
Now, having fallen and banged myself up in the shower earlier, I am in a lot of physical distress that even a large spoonful of Nutella and a muscle relaxer haven’t been able to calm down. Nasty weather is on the way and I’m in pain and I need heeeeeeellllllppppppp.
Hmmmm . . . this might help. Think warm thoughts. An inviting dip into the pool on a summer’s day . . .
Now things are really getting hot . . .
In fact, they are sizzlin’!! Too hot to resist . . .
*sigh* Yes, yes I do . . .
Mr. A and a jar of Nutella. Now THAT’s a thought. *drool*
Now if you aren’t thawed out enough yet, dance along to the grooves of LMFAO ’cause those ChaRActers are sexy and they know it (and so do WE)!
Greetings from your Halloween-loving blogger, Fedoralady! She decided to put on her skinny face (Celebrity Cruise 2000) and borrow a costume from her favorite actor’s past to celebrate the holiday. 😀
Guy’s here to heat up things for us, too!
And our favorite warrior dwarf is going all peace and love Woodstock-style, man! Outta sight!
Little Johnny Mulligan . . . still self trying to convince us he’s not *really* a bad guy.
Guy—just HAS to appear more than once. Come on over and take a bite, big boy!
Lucas and Ros are going undercover this Halloween as master magician and able assistant!!
Lothario lifeguard Lee offers us the ultimate in trick-or-treat goodness . . . at least, in HIS eyes. 😉
Guy, however, thinks what HE has to offer is the penultimate in Halloween deliciousness.
Really, Guy, I BELIEVE you!
And for a really sweet Halloween treat, look no further than to Harry and Gerri!
And if you over-indulge and get a tummy ache, Dr. Track will stop by to ease your pain . . .
From our bewitching Scarlett to you all, Happy Halloween!
Rev up your motor with Ricky, dive in the deep end with Lee, savor sweet romance with Mr. Thornton, sizzle in sexy steaminess with Portah, admire the medieval beauty that is Sir Guy, thrill to Thorin’s amazing way with a weapon or simply bask in the sunshine that is sweet Harry’s smile as you sample our first smorgasbord for Sunday.
Still wet and downright soggy here with 70 percent chance of rain tomorrow and a good chance on Monday, too. Everyone is pretty tired of the endless precipitation. Hope these fellows will help brighten up all our days!
That shameless flirty-girty, fitness instructor and lifeguard, Lee Preston, in the final series of the popular comedy-drama “Cold Feet.” What this lad can do for a Speedo . . .
Philip Turner, sportsman, philanderer and possible murder suspect in the episode “In Divine Proportion”-Inspector Lynley Mysteries.
Another Philip, Philip Durant, and another fellow with an eye for ladies to whom he isn’t married in “Ordeal by Innocence,” a Miss Marple Mystery.
RA plays the mustachioed Bill Chatford in the 30’s period piece “Malice Aforethought.” This time, he’s the one who gets cuckolded. We do get to see him in a pair of handsome purple pajamas . . .
Watch out for that deceptively cherubic face of dashing man-about-town Percy Courtney in “Marie Lloyd.” Percy loves Marie, but he’s got a weakness for the good life and good-looking ladies–and quite a temper.
“He’s got eyes like the bluest skies . . .”
Pale blue eyes with a distinct limbus ringing the irises, which are very changeable in color. Incandescent blue at times, stormy grey-blue at others, fringed in those plentiful lashes, framed by expressive masculine brows. Blue eyes that turn nearly black, a crystalline green and even tan at times; tender, sweet, sad, angry, sorrowful, amused, vengeful, bleak. . . . beautiful.
Here’s the stats!

And Guy, Lucas and Porter are perennial favorites.
It’s been a very fun and interesting ride this past year and I appreciate how many of you have stuck with me on this journey. Not only have we celebrated Richard Armitage and this exciting new phase of his career, but we’ve marked our own milestones together. We’ve made new friendships and deepened others. We’ve even learned (and created) some new words along the way. 😉
Many, many thanks to everyone who has visited, commented, reblogged, referred. It would be no fun just being a party of one. Richard Armitage is just too irresistible not to share.
I would love to know what your favorite aspects of this blog have been–types and subjects of posts, for example, and what you’d like to see or see more of. Do tell!
Oh, and the celebration is not over yet . . . more to come.
I told you there would be cake. 😉
Our word for the day is Don Juan (noun): an obsessed womanizer. See Lee Preston, lifeguard, (very) personal trainer and total flirty-girty in series 5 of Cold Feet. Lee has never met a woman he wouldn’t be happy to seduce, methinks. And he’s very good at it, with that deceptively angelic face, those puppy-dog eyes. engaging grins and the killer bod.
The original Don Juan was, of course, a legendary 14th century Spanish nobleman, who devoted his life to seducing women. His story has been portrayed by many authors and composers, amongst them Moliere, Mozart, Byron and Shaw. But did any of their incarnations of the legendary lover wear midnight blue Speedos and look like this?
I think not.
One of the things I find delicious about this character is that the actor behind it is so gorgeous, sexy and charismatic he could have been a very successful womanizer, a veritable Don Juan, like Lee, if he so chose that road. But he isn’t and he didn’t and I love him all the more for it.
As for Lee, I do think he could be a heck of a good time for a girl–as long as she took proper precautions and never expected more than a good time. Mr. Preston is not marriage or long-term partnership material.
But he is awfully pretty (even if I prefer the more mature beauty of Mr. Armitage these days).
When I look at Richard, this is what I see,
poetry in motion . . . poetry in motion, walkin’ by my side
(I wish!)
His lovely locomotion, keeps my eyes open wide (what a dish!)
Poetry in motion, see that sexy sway
A wave out on the ocean, could never move that way . . .
I love every movement, and there’s nothing I would change
He doesn’t need improvement, he’s much too nice to re-arrange . . .
(my take on Johnny Tillotson‘s “Poetry in Motion“)
I put this together last night and took advantage of my sister’s wi-fi here in the big city to upload it. I hope you’ll enjoy the festive images, winter landscape and the talents of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. A Very Merry Christmas to one and all!
