I have a case of the “can’t-help-its” this afternoon. Just not motivated to do much of anything but watch old movies on TCM and piddle around on the computer. Ate some gorgeous watermelon earlier–sweet, juicy, delicious and good for you! Speaking of such things . . . feast your eyes once again on the close-up goodness of Lucas early S9, complete with Porter muscles. Hope your Sunday is going/has gone well .. .

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. Oooh Portah muscles! LOVE! Doesn’t look like Lucas, though. When I see these pics from S9-1, I always think of Porter. Good thoughts though! Thanks, Angie! 😀

    • I don’t think of Richard in S9 as Lucas much anyway–I can’t rewatch it, it seems. But he certainly looked hot and was all alpha male in that first ep. And the clothes looked like Porter, even if the longer hair didn’t. *thud* I didn’t include some of the other S9 promo shots here because there’s something missing in his eyes for me, a certain hardness to the face . . . I seem to see Bateman and not Lucas. There’s a reason y’all won’t see a lot of S9 stuff on my blog, I fear. 😦

  2. My hero–and so beautiful, too! Thanks for the great photos–did you get to watch “Mr.Deeds” on TCM this afternoon? Hadn’t seen it in ages! Where are the Frank Capras now that we need them so desperately?

    • That was one of the movies I watched today. I love those old Capra movies. Gary Cooper was a beautiful man, too, and he captured the earnestness and decency of the character of Longfellow Deeds so well. *sigh* Call them sentimental or corny, but those films do resonate with me each time I watch them.

      • I love Farnk Capra movies–I watch them over and over again, never get tired of them. I can so easily see Richard in one of scripts Gary Cooper or Jimmy Stewart did for Capra–I seem to remember an interview Richard gave a while back where he said one of his idols was Stewart.

    • At first I took it to be his sadness/bitterness over how the whole Sodding Sarah disaster turned out. Then of course all that with Vaughn and the briefcase and Maya came to light . . . and week after week I came to dread each new ep more and more. Richard’s performance was great, don’t get me wrong. But I hated what they did to the character. Hated and still hate. So there he is, looking all buff and gorgeous and hotter than ever, but he’s not the same man any longer. I just can’t, won’t force myself to watch that again.
