Things were going pretty well until they got to number four. Thorin. Thorin?! Only the fourth hottest dwarf? Thorin, with his piercing azure gaze, deep, commanding voice, that flowing mane of hair with its widow’s peak and those fetching braids–only the fourth hottest?
So, who was ahead of him? You might have guessed the hottie nephews, and indeed, Aidan Turner as Kili and Dean O’Gorman as Fili took the number two and number one positions in Buzzfeed’s rankings.

But there was also a number three. This guy. Jimmy Nesbitt as Bofur. With the funky braids and the idiotic hat. This was deemed hotter than Thorin.
Now, I like Jimmy. He’s got a lovely twinkle in his eyes, wonderful dimples and that great Irish accent. And he’s a good actor.
But even HE has described himself as looking like a “transvestite Pippi Longstocking” in this role. Transvestite Pippi Longstocking does not trump the regal, majestic uncrowned King Under the Mountain.
If I were ranking them, Thorin would, of course, be number one, then Aidan and Dean, the hottie sister-sons, as two and three.

I took full advantage of their reaction options…opting for WTF! How in the world did Bofur ranked higher? It just doesn’t make sense. I can see in some circles how Fili and Kili might outrank Thorin, but Bofur! Well, at least we know who belongs at the top of the list. 😉
I’m scratching my head over this one. I mean, what is their criteria for hotness?? Were they hungry and Bofur’s pigtails reminded them of Wendy’s Hamburgers? And sure, amongst some of the younger viewers in particular, I can see them going for Aidan and Dean. But Bofur outranking THORIN?? Nooooo. *shrugs shoulders and shakes head in disbelief*

As I said to Jas, OK, yes, there is a circle of mostly younger fans who are going to be drawn to Kili and Fili and I think they are cute–I mean, they are close blood relations to the gorgeous Thorin. But to put Bofur ahead of THORIN?? Excuse me?

OK here’s what I think: that list was compiled by Jimmy’s wife. She didn’t want to put hubby in 1st place so as not to be too conspicuous…so she went with 3rd place.. LOL

I made my thoughts know on their comment section as well. They’re a little bit crazy!
As someone said at Twitter, they must not have listened to the Misty Mountains song because #4 proves with that melodious voice alone he IS the hottest dwarf!!
I think this is testament to the fact that, even wearing Pippi Longstocking braids, even wearing a silly hat, even with a mustache that seems to have a mind of its own, Jimmy Nesbitt is still the hottest thing to come out of Northern Ireland since… ever, really.
LOL well I do love Jimmy and have been a fan for a long time. Love the impish smile and twinkle in those eyes. And my ancestors came from Northern Ireland long, long ago, so I have a soft spot for him in that sense, too. 😉
