I’m on the list . . .
On the list to be a reporter for CBR at Comic-Con, that is. I’ll get a free four-day pass and cover one to two panels a day (no, I don’t know which ones yet) and get paid for it. Not a huge amount, but considering I’d have done it for free, I’m not going to sneeze at it. And apparently there’s all the convention junk food I can eat.
Now, I am still a long way from San Diego and the Hobbit panel and Richard Armitage, and I don’t just mean in terms of the 2,000 miles that separate me from that lovely city. It’s getting there and back and having a place to stay while I am there. But the first step has been taken. We shall see . . . I really appreciate everyone’s good wishes and support of any kind.

EXCELLENT NEWS!!!! YAY!!!!!!!! Oh Angie I am so excited for you!
Thank you, brain running around in circles right now. 😀
Great news!! I sure hope this all comes together.
Oh Angie, that’s FANTASTIC news!!! I really, really, really want to help you get there!!! I’m dead serious!!!
I know you are, and I appreciate it so much. Leigh has already pledged help, too. And I will need it!
I’m beside myself with excitement!! Way to go Angie!!!!! Wish I could help financially but I’m afraid I’m unable to do so at the moment. 😦 But I’ll be praying it will all work out in the end and I’m sure you’ll do us proud!!! 😀
Angie, I’m so excited for you, too! I know you’re going to have some wonderful adventures! I’m really looking forward to hearing about all of them! Woo, hoo!!
Thank you, Judit. Hopefully it will all work out. 😀
Faboulous news! I think you are going to LOVE it. How do we go about getting help to you? Let me know! hip, hip horray.
Thank you, Gracie. 😀 We do have a Paypal acct . . . davidblong@centurytel.net Will look into other means as well.
That’s great news Angie! I’m glad it came before I went away so I wasn’t left wondering! As gracie says, how do we go about getting help to you?
On this note, I will sign off, as I’m heading away for a holiday in Fiji. I will miss you girls, and checking in here for my Armitage fix. I have Richard’s radio interviews and audiobooks, plus a couple of photos loaded onto my iPhone, so hopefully they will be enough to get me through!! 😉
Catch up in a couple of weeks!!
Oh, Fiji!! Sounds wonderful and I hope you have a great time. I guess I will send my address to you all individually–I don’t really want to publish it on the blog–as I have all your email addys. If for some reason this all falls through, I will, of course, return any assistance given, I want to stress that to everyone.
You can check in on your smart phone. When I visit my family, I check in from my Droid. It’s definitely not easy to comment using that tiny keyboard, but at least you can see what’s being discussed.
Oh, have a wonderful time on your trip!!
Have a wonderful time, Mezz!
Thanks girls! Internet connection will be sporadic, incommunicado for a few days on a boat, but I will use my phone to see what’s happening here when I get the chance. 🙂
This is great news!
YAY!!!!!! This is so exciting! Are you getting a press pass so you can sit in the press section (i.e., super close to the stage) or are you going to have to wait in line with us common folk? 😀
I sent you an email with an idea about fundraising, let me know what you think?
My understanding is it is a press pass . . . I have to have a recording device for panels and interviews. 😀 Of course, I am taking my digital SLR along with me, too. This will be like my newspaper days when I had to cover an event and turn right around and write an article to post to the web.
Should you get a certain interview, I volunteer to hold your recording device! I won’t need to be *on* his lap, no, but right next to him, probably with an arm around him for, um, balance, yeah. Muahahaha! So excited for you, you’re going to do a bang-up job no matter what you’re covering!
🙂 🙂
Well, this is fantastic news, long overdue! You deserve this opportunity and will make the most of it, I’m sure.
Thank you, sis. I wasn’t sure I would be chosen so tried not to get my hopes up. I am very excited as is Benny for me!
Don’t ask, don’t get. Congratulations!
I thought of Publisher’s Clearing House’s sweepstakes. “You can’t win if you don’t enter.” 😀 Thanks so much!!
Congratulations! How fabulous! Look forward to your reports from the CC front.
Thank you, Fabo! I am very excited to be able to do work for CBR and to also be able to report back to the Armitage/Hobbit fans. This is what I did for 10 years so it will be good to get back in the saddle again. 😀
Just noticed your tweet and good news, Angie. CongRAts! Fingers crossed that your good fortune will extend to being assigned The Hobbit panel as well. Looking forward with great anticipation to your reports. Enjoy!
Thanks so much, my dear. Yes, keeping fingers crossed all will go well and I will be able to attend Hobbit panel, too, as reporter. Have already dropped heavy hints in that direction. Just excited in general. The last few months have been hard, I don’t mind admitting, and I’m ready for something positive to happen! 😀
Congrats, Angie! Very much looking forward to your reports!
Thank you very much, Jane. 😀
Congratulations!!! What a wonderful news. I kept my fingers crossed, though I had doubts, if it could have an effect over the long distance ;o)
I hope, your journey and the whole stay works out wonderfully and will be a great time for you!
Thank you so much, cdoart. I think all the fingers crossed worldwide must have done me good. 😀
I am so thrilled for you and hope you have a wonderful time. Just remember to stay vertical if you happen to be in the vicinity of a certain “tall, dark, and story” actor. Ha! I look forward to reading your report when you get back.
Cheers! ;->
Thanks, Grati. 😀 I am already practicing maintaining my composure just in case . . .. 😉
Wow, CONGRATULATIONS, Angie!! If you go this year, does that line you up to go again next year when he’ll play an even larger role??? This is really beyond fantastic and San Diego is a truly lovely city.
I was a little surprised when British Airways suddenly introduced a direct flight from London to San Diego last year – but maybe they foresaw this added traffic incoming!! 😉
Can’t wait to share in your journey of preparation!! 😀
I don’t know if you automatically get an invite back (assuming you do a good job) or not. Thanks so much and I am really looking forward to sharing my experiences with you all. 😀
Congratulations Angie !!! I’m very happy for you and I hope that you will have a great time at Comic-Con. 🙂
Thanks, April. 😀 I hope so, too.
And of course I’m crossing fingers and hope you will have the chance to see Richard. 🙂
OMGOMGOMG!!!!!! How cool!
LOL I think so, too. 😀
