I am entranced with my Plush Thorin. He’s the perfect size to clutch to my heart. His blazing blue eyes and angry brows get me every time. I love his fuzzy hair. No braids to wind around my finger, but it’s delightful to ruffle with my fingers. I imagine a very, very young Thorin whose hair has not grown to its luxuriant lengths quite yet (I guess his beard got ahead of it. 😉 ) His nose also has a ways to go before it reaches its adult magnificence.

I am so glad Plush Thorin finally made it safely across the big pond to me this week.

(And I realized two things after looking at these photos: (1) I really need to touch up my roots again and (2) I mustn’t get carried away with the bronzer beneath the cheekbones LOL Trying to combat wan winter complexion. Ooh, and I need a haircut!)

About fedoralady

I'm an LA native--Lower Alabama, that is. My husband of more than 30 years and I live here on a portion of my family's former farm with two gorgeous calicos and a handsome GSD mix. My background is art education, and over the years I've been a teacher, department store photographer, sales associate and a journalist. My husband, his business partner and I have Pecan Ridge Productions, a video production company, for which I shoot & edit video and stills and manage marketing. I also still write part-time for the local paper. I love movies, music, art, photography and books, and my tastes in all of them are eclectic.

  1. Actually on this occasion I’d say forget the fierce-looking Thorin, how lovely and young does Fedoralady look! The blogger is hot!

      • You, frumpy? Never! You look great, regardless of what you think you see. But maybe some hair services (coupled with another viewing of TH?) would give you a boost after the trials of this winter.

Yes, cuddle plush Thorin close to your heart. He’ll need all that lovin’.

        • Well, I try. 😉 Tonight I looked at how impossibly tall my great-nephew is now–wasn’t he, like, a preschooler yesterday??–and I suddenly felt mystified by how rapidly time is passing.

I am going to have to do something with the hair soon, it’s getting shaggy and the color obviously needs a touch-up. I can trim the bangs as I’ve done before and we can do the home hair color, but the overall trim it needs is going to require a professional.

  2. I love his angry eyes ! I received my plush little Thorin and Thorin Lego two weeks ago. They are on my desk next to my computer watching me richarding ! OMG how silly we are ….
I love rewatching the hobbit ending scene on youtube because I can press the pause button and endlessly admire his beautiful eyes !!!!

BTW Happy Guyday Friday. I love you so much Guy !

  3. Mmm. I know what you mean about time passing. And I know my hair needs a professional trim, at least 3 cm off the ends. Like you, I can do the colour at home, but I need a pro for the cut and I have to ask friends where to go. The lady who did it before retired.

    • It’s so hard to get in to see the lady who normally cuts my hair–she’s cut back a bit on her hours–so I may have to either wait longer than I want to or get someone else to do it.

  4. If Thorin wasn’t also in the picture i would suspect you were posting a ten year old photo of yourself.

You do make a lovely couple – although you are so much fun, i’m not sure how long he will be able to keep that grumpy face up.

    • Oh, gosh, thank you. My back is killing me at the moment (I guess that’s what I get for wearing high-heeled boots to the memorial supper, although the 100 percent humidity and below freezing temps don’t help) and I will take all the compliments I can get. 😉 I am hoping I can coax just a wee bit of a smile from the bonny little lad.

  5. I got mine a week before Christmas! He’s so cute!! My friends said, “Let me see Richard!” Then they snickered over how small he is! I said, “Well he is a dwarf after all!” And he makes me smile!!

    • I don’t know why it took mine that extra time, I was beginning to worry he was lost . . . anyway, I am just glad he arrived safe and sound. I think he’s simply sublime just like the CReAtor. 😀

  6. So cute… 🙂

I also have received my Thorin plush and I love it. I have also the Lego Thorin and recently, I have found in a toy store the Gandalf plush. So, Thorin plush is not alone, lol.

  7. You just got yours this week? Ok, I’d been wondering but too busy to track mine down. It’s probably on its way to Wisconsin.

    • Ah, thank you, sweetie. The good thing about sticking with the blonde hair color, is it blends better growing out with my natural white/silver than if I used a darker color. It doesn’t scream at you, “DYE JOB!” LOL It’s just becoming more and more resistant to color. I’ve been trimming my own bangs along the way, otherwise I would bear a distinct resemblance to an Old English sheepdog. 😉
